After an 8 year hiatus, the former Tour of Azerbaijan returned with its new name, The Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race. What an absolute gem of a race it was. After the pandemic and the turmoil in the region, it was really nice to see this small country rebound in every imaginable way. The race staff, its volunteers and The Azerbaijan Cycling Federation put on a world class race that in my opinion will soon grow to be a race that no one will want to miss.
Great racing, wonderful people and a cuisine that leaves you wanting more….see you again Azerbaijan and thank you.

The 61st Presidential Tour of Turkiye has concluded here in Ankara, Turkiye.

It’s been a very colorful first 4 stages of The 61st Presidential Tour of Turkiye. This, my 16th time covering the race brings new challenges to photograph the race a little differently than in previous editions. Certain routes are standard, and creating new images can be difficult.

It was back in 2011 when I first began photographing the that I fell in love with this remarkable country. Every edition that I have shot since then has left a lasting impression that has stayed with me to this very day. The friends I have made professionally and outside of the peloton are some of the finest souls I am privileged to call my friends.

And now as I embark to this years tour which for me will be my 16th time covering the race, I look forward to another wonderful 8 days of racing which begin in the coastal town of Cesme on April 26th and conclude on May 3 in the country’s capitol city of Ankara for the first time.

Another has come and gone. Lots of new faces and teams at this years edition in Redlands, California.

Great to catch up with some of the veterans and old friends.

As for the racing- from the first rider off at the stage 1 Lake Perris Time Trial and until Sundays wet Sunset Loop stage 5, the racing was as intense as ever.

I’ve lost count as to how many times Ive photographed this race but I’m glad to keep coming back as it’s a reminder that we really do have some extraordinary athletes representing the finest in North American cycling.

With both men and women’s programs, Team Amani has set out to expand the growth of African Cycling.

With support from entities both within and outside of cycling, there is no doubt that we are witnessing a movement for African cycling.

This past week, I was fortunate to follow at the in Antalya, Turkiye. What I witnessed was a team eager to race, to prove that they belong in the peloton…..and they do.

We can all watch them grow with the goal of racing in the top races of the world.

It’s always a great time shooting races here in Turkiye. This years was no exception. 25 teams from around the world gathered in Antalya, Turkiye for the 4 stage race. Racing was fierce, the adrenaline high and in the end it was 19 year old Brazilian on the top step of the podium.

The Night of Champions did not disappoint. Nine exciting fights had the crowd on their feet the entire evening. puts on one hell of a show to showcase some of boxings future stars.

The inaugural took place this past week in Pune, India to kick off India’s bid to grow and host professional cycling events.

29 teams from across the globe were welcomed by Punes’ entire population. Organizers even had 475km of road replaced just for this race.

The enthusiasm of the community here was large….very large as on stage 4, a fast 95km city circuit saw over an estimated 2 million people come out and witness history.
