Long Beach State alum Johnny Bega ’99 has made an impact on water polo at every level. As UC Merced’s first head men’s and women’s water polo coach, he led the women’s team to a 2024 California Pacific Conference Championship.

Bega also helped Cal win the 2016 NCAA Men’s Water Polo Championship and earned MPSF Coach of the Year honors while leading San José State.

With more than 25 years of coaching experience, Bega continues to build winning programs and mentor future athletes. 🌊

congratulates Misty Perry Isaacson ’93 on her appointment as U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California!

While earning her degrees, Judge Perry Isaacson worked at Costco. She went on to build an accomplished legal career focused on bankruptcy and related litigation, serving as a U.S. Trustee trial attorney and Ninth Circuit legal leadership chair.

We’re proud to celebrate this inspiring journey from The Beach to the federal bench! 🏛️
