Paul didn't rejoice in hardship because hardship was good. He rejoiced because hardship taught him something he couldn't learn any other way:

His weakness created a deeper dependence on Christ.

What if the very thing we're asking God to remove is the thing He is using to draw us closer to Him?

His grace really is sufficient. ❤️

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9–10

God is more than with you. He dwells in you.
Let that sink in this morning. 🤯

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore

“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”

This Morning in the Word 📖 2 Corinthians 4:6

The same God who spoke light into the darkness at creation is the God who shines His light into our hearts.

He doesn’t just give us more information. He reveals Himself.

He opens our eyes to see the glory of God—and that glory is revealed to us in the face of Jesus Christ.

That’s what the Gospel does. It takes people who were walking in darkness and lets them SEE.

Not because we were smart enough to figure it out or because we worked hard enough to find God.
But because God Himself shined His light into our hearts. ❤️

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
