♻️ Beginning NEXT MONTH, Recycling Carts are for Recycling ONLY♻️

Last week the City Council chose to continue curbside recycling, but in order to increase participation and maintain low contamination rates, please note the following changes to the curbside program beginning the week of Monday, Oct. 19:

🗑️ Trash will no longer be accepted in the blue-lidded recycling bins (If a bin is clearly contaminated it will be tagged and removed. Additional trash bins are available at the standard fee of $5 monthly if needed).
🗓️ Recycle carts will ONLY be collected on their designated day (one day after trash day). Recycle carts taken to the curb on trash day will be skipped and collected the following day.
👥 In addition to our Blue Crew, Mayor Kristen Ishihara is gathering a task force of residents to help educate the community about the program and recommend a "goal" to determine if the program is a success.

Keep Longview Beautiful and the Longview Fire Department are expanding Sow a Seed this year — October 11, 2026 | 1–5 PM at the Green.

And Freudenfreude has been handed the keys to curate a local makers market.

We’re calling it "Flourish & Flutter".

We’ve got limited spots left, but we’re being particular about what fits the mix. Trust us—you’ll have some seriously good neighbors.

We’re looking for:

• Upcycled work — not “vintage” resale
• Unique quilters & textile artists
• Metalwork
• Stained glass & glasswork
• Ceramics work
• Generally inventive, wonderful, handmade treasures that deserve some sunlight

The vendor fee is minuscule, because cash shouldn’t be a hurdle.

It’s not a flea market, and it ain’t an art fair, either.

It’s a beautiful collision of art, craft & imagination.
