We were back on the trails this past weekend!

It’s always a rewarding experience to get out into nature with youth from our community and give them the chance to explore new places.

And our next adventure awaits: Charmlee Wilderness Park on October 24! Sign up through the link in our bio and join us for the next hike.

This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.

Our community members took some time to slow down, stretch, and reconnect during our latest Wellness Day! 🧘‍♀️

A special thank you to our yoga instructor, Hasibe Caballero-Gomez, for creating a welcoming space, answering questions, and offering adjustments to support each participant throughout the session.

Hear from some of our participants as they share what they enjoyed most about the experience!

Don’t miss our last Wellness Day of the year on October 19, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you to our incredible Pacoima Beautiful Community Inspectors who came out to help improve our community! Here’s a quick before and after from the corner of Dronfield and Pierce, near Fenton Elementary School, where we worked to improve pedestrian pathways and create a safer, more welcoming space for our community.

We recently took community members to South LA to explore Metro’s new Rail to Rail Active Transportation Project, a first-of-its-kind project funded through the Safe Clean Water Program.

The 5.5-mile path connects neighborhoods, parks, schools, and local business corridors along the way. Designed for everyone, the path welcomes bikes, scooters, skateboards, strollers, and wheelchairs, while keeping motor vehicles off the route. Benches, shaded areas, landscaping, and water fountains make the path a space for the community to enjoy.

Our community had a great time experiencing the project in person and learning more about what it can bring to the neighborhoods it connects. We hope to see more projects like this that create accessible, welcoming spaces for communities across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

Introducing our new Sewing 101 series with our YUTEPers!

For our very first lesson, our YUTEPers learned from fellow community member Adriana Diaz, who shared her expertise from her background as a seamstress. Youth gained hands-on practice learning how to sew buttons and patches.

In the environmental justice movement, fighting fast fashion starts with community care and garment repair. Teaching youth how to mend and extend the life of their clothes reduces landfill waste, resists the toxic impacts of textile production on marginalized communities, and builds true environmental sustainability right at home.

Our first hike as part of our Every Body Outdoors series was a challenging one, but definitely worth it!

This series is all about showing that everyone can enjoy the outdoors, no matter their age or experience level. For our first hike, we took our youth to Sandstone Peak to spend time in nature, challenge themselves, and enjoy the outdoors together.

Missed this one? Don’t worry, we have more hikes coming up! Sign up through the link in our bio to join us on the next one!
