Kathy Folan and her son, Nathan, prove otherwise.

Kathy was a junior in college when she was r*ped by someone she trusted. A month later, she discovered she was pregnant.

“I just remember looking in the mirror and not recognizing the person looking back at me. Like this can’t be. This is not my plan. And I panicked, but at the same time, I knew God created the life inside of me.”

Kathy told her parents and decided she wanted to place her baby with a family in an open adoption.

She eventually found a Maryland couple who shared her faith and pro-life values.

They even picked out the baby’s name together.

She gave birth and spent 6 days with her beautiful baby boy, Nathan, before handing him over to his adoptive parents.

After saying goodbye to her son, she returned to college and found her husband. Meanwhile, Nathan grew up to be an amazing man.

Kathy and Nathan remain close, and he even stood by her side as she gave their testimony at the 2018 Walk for Life vigil.

“Out of darkness comes beauty. And Nathan is the beauty that came out of that darkness.”

Women who’ve experienced s*xual violence will not heal by having their innocent children violently murdered.

Kathy and her son are proof that abortion isn’t necessary in cases of r*pe.
