🚨🚨CRITICAL CAP FUNDING UPDATE: TAKE ACTION!

TxABA PPG has created legislative outreach templates for community agencies and families in response to the proposed funding for the Texas Children’s Autism Program (CAP) in HHSC’s FY 2028-2029 Legislative Appropriations Request.
The templates are included directly in this post so you can copy the one that applies to you, personalize it with your experience and local impact, and send it to your Texas House Representative and Texas Senator.

We strongly encourage you to personalize your message. Providers can share how many children and families they serve through CAP and what a loss of funding could mean for their organization and community. Families can share how CAP has affected their child and what continued access to services means to them.
Your experience matters. Your legislators need to hear directly from the Texans who may be aftected by these funding decisions.
Please share this post with providers, families, and other stakeholders who may be impacted by CAP tunding.

But that’s not the entire story.

Every single butterfly represents every time they requested for their tech to draw one on the whiteboard.

When only a few months ago we were struggling to safely express needs and wants.

This whiteboard, like the butterflies, represents the beautiful growth we see every single day. 🦋🦋

We’re going to need a ladder and a second board soon!

We’re so excited to host a fun and inclusive Halloween event for our learners and families on October 30th! 🍬
We’ll have decorated trunks, games, candy, food trucks, and tons of smiles — all in a safe, supportive environment for our children with disabilities and their families.
