You sit down to work on something important.

Then an email arrives. Your phone buzzes. Someone needs a “quick” answer. You check one notification—and suddenly 30 minutes have disappeared.

Interruptions may only take a few seconds, but constantly shifting your attention can make it much harder to finish focused work.

Try creating short periods during the day when you silence notifications, close your inbox and concentrate on one important task.
