06/24/2026 3:05 PM MDT/4:05 PM CDT - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Roosevelt and Curry counties until 10:00 PM MDT tonight. The strongest storms that develop will be capable of 70 MPH wind gusts and lime sized hail (2.00" in diameter). Frequent lightning and localized flooding will be possible.

KLBK Wednesday AM Weather Update (6/24/26) Highs Wednesday will range from the middle 90s to the lower 100s.

Update: There is a "slight" (2/5) and a "marginal" (1/5) severe weather risk across portions of the South Plains and Rolling Plains from late Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning. The threats include up to 1.75" hail (golf ball size), up to 70 mph wind gusts and very isolated flooding.

Here's our Wednesday forecast for the metro area. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions and more hot weather. High around 100° with a south-southeast wind 5-15 mph. Sunrise is at 6:38 AM CDT.

8:46 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - COVER YOUR CARS BROWNFIELD! A severe thunderstorm with a history of producing baseball sized hail (2.75" in diameter) is heading for town. If it maintains its track and intensity, impacts can be expected around 9:25-9:40 PM!

8:22 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - A DESTRUCTIVE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for portions of Hockley and Terry counties until 9:00 PM. Confirmed baseball sized hail was reported in Levelland. 60 MPH wind gusts are also possible. This storm is tracking S @ 15 MPH.

7:02 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Lubbock and Hale counties until 8:00 PM for the possibility of golf ball sized hail (1.75" in diameter) and 60 MPH wind gusts. Movement is SE @ 15 MPM.

6:20 PM CDT 06/23/2026 - A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Lamb and Hockley counties until 7:00 PM for the possibility of 60 MPH wind gusts and quarter sized hail (1.00" in diameter). Movement is SE @ 10 MPH!
