There is a risk for flash flooding across the entire region Tuesday. A moderate (3/4) risk has been placed on the north and western portions of the area, this DOES include the City of Lubbock. A slight (2/4) risk has been placed on the south and eastern portions of the area. Flash flooding will be possible through out the day Tuesday.

A Flood Watch has been issued for Bailey, Cochran, Lamb, Castro, Parmer and Swisher County from 6 AM Tuesday to 12 PM Wednesday. Swaths of rainfall between 2-3" are possible, and could lead to flooding. Avoid low lying areas, heed all watches and warnings and Turn Around, Don't Drown. Stay with my self and Ron Roberts through out the day for updates.

It looks like another surge of tropical moisture will make its way to the South Plains next week.

Hurricane Polo is currently off the coast of Mexico. It is expected to make landfall early next week and track its way northeast thru Mexico, toward New Mexico and the South Plains. Heavy rainfall is a possibility with flash flooding.

Enjoy the mostly dry and muggy weekend and stay tuned for updates next week.
