This fall the McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first class. After several years of planning, the school opened on August 21, 1996, with 44 students from 8 different states. The curriculum for the new school focused on an integrated course of study designed to prepare students for ministry.

October is Archives Month! This year's theme for Georgia Archives Month is "Our Georgia Voices: Before and Beyond 1776." Mercer's Archives preserves and provides access to generations of stories related to Mercer University, Tift College, and Georgia Baptists.

Today is International Day of Sign Languages! According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are more than 70 million deaf people worldwide. More than 80% of them live in developing countries. Collectively, they use more than 300 different sign languages.
