BIG NEWS FROM NOT FORGOTTEN FARMSTEAD!

We are excited to share that Not Forgotten Farmstead is now partnering with The Carnivore Shop Georgia!

Our pasture-raised chicken is now being included in their subscription meat boxes and shipped directly to families looking for clean, responsibly raised meat. And hopefully, our goat meat will be joining those boxes in the future as well!

What makes this partnership especially meaningful to us is who they choose to work with.

The Carnivore Shop Georgia doesn't simply look for meat to fill a box. They seek out farms whose practices align with what they believe food production should look like—farms focused on regenerative agriculture, healthy soil, healthy pastures, and animals raised the way they were intended to be raised.

That means knowing where the animals come from and how they are raised. It means pasture-based farming, caring for the land instead of depending on chemicals, and working with farms committed to producing clean, wholesome food.

And that is exactly what we have spent years building here at Not Forgotten Farmstead.

We raise our animals on our own farm using regenerative and rotational practices designed to improve the land rather than take from it. We don't use herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers on our pastures. Our chickens are raised outside on pasture, moving across the farm as part of the system that helps build soil, cycle nutrients, and keep our land productive.

So when another business does the work to seek out farms like ours—and then chooses our chicken to feed their customers—that means something to us.

It means more families will have access to meat raised with purpose.

It means our little farm here in Georgia gets to feed families we may never have been able to reach on our own.

And it means regenerative farms can work together with businesses that believe there is value in knowing who raised your food, where it came from, and how it was raised.

We're proud to have our chicken going into The Carnivore Shop Georgia subscription boxes, and we're excited to see where this partnership goes.

From our pastures to more family tables—that has always been the goal.

Feed our family first, and then feed as many families as we can. ❤️

I don't think farmers have to agree on every argument surrounding climate change to agree on this: we ought to be leaving the land better than we found it.

Carbon belongs in the soil.

It belongs beneath our boots, feeding roots, building organic matter, holding moisture, and helping create living soil that can continue producing food long after we're gone.

That is one of the reasons we rotationally graze livestock here at Not Forgotten Farmstead. We move animals across perennial pasture instead of treating livestock and land as two separate things. The animals graze, fertilize, trample plant material back into the ground, move on, and give that pasture an opportunity to rest and recover.

We don't believe the answer is taking animals off the land. We believe the answer is learning how to put animals back onto the land the way they were meant to function.

Healthy pasture should catch rain instead of watching it run away. It should hold moisture when Georgia gets dry. It should grow roots, build organic matter, cycle nutrients, and support life above and below the ground.

That is also why we're not interested in building a farming system dependent on constantly pouring more fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, and other outside inputs onto our acreage. We would rather build a system where cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, grass, manure, microorganisms, sunshine, rain, and time work together.

Joel Salatin describes this kind of agriculture as an "ecological, carbon-driven, pasture-based system."

I like that description.

Because whether somebody wants to argue about climate change or never mention the words at all, I think farmers can still ask a much simpler question:

Is the soil better because we farmed it?

Can it hold more water?

Can it grow more grass?

Is there more organic matter?

Are there more roots in the ground?

Can we raise healthy livestock while depending less on outside inputs?

And can the next generation inherit land that is more productive and resilient than the land we started with?

That's the kind of farming we're trying to build here.

Not perfect farming. Not farming built around buzzwords.

Just livestock, grass, soil, sunshine, rain, and a farmer doing her best to make sure that when she's finished with a piece of ground, she gave something back.

Put the carbon back in the soil. Put the animals back on the land. And let the farm function like a living system again.

ALL RIGHT, Y’ALL… LET’S CHALLENGE MY BUTCHER!

If you’re going to eat beef, let’s eat REAL beef — raised right here on our farm.

This is MY beef. These are cattle we raise here at Not Forgotten Farmstead, and when they leave my pasture, I have some pretty amazing butchers waiting on the other end who know exactly what to do with them.

And that matters.

Because I can raise a beautiful beef animal, put the time into the pasture, care for that animal and produce the quality of beef I want to feed my own family — but then comes the final craftsman in the process:

THE BUTCHER. 🔪

And man, oh man, do I have some amazing butchers working with this farm.

These guys know beef. They cut by hand. They know their craft. And when you combine farm-raised beef with a butcher who really knows what he’s doing, that’s when things get GOOD.

Right now, I have my butcher cutting favorites like Filet Mignon, Ribeyes, Bone-In Ribeyes, New York Strips, Sirloins, Porterhouses and more.

But why stop there?

Look at this chart.

Cowboy Ribeye? Tomahawk? Denver Steak? Picanha? Ribeye Cap? Baseball-Cut Sirloin? Teres Major? Bavette?

I want YOU to decide what we cut next.

So here’s the challenge:

🔥 WHAT DO YOU WANT MY BUTCHER TO CUT FROM MY BEEF FOR YOU? 🔥

Pick a steak from the chart and drop the NAME in the comments.

Don’t worry about whether I currently have it on the website.

You tell me what you want.

Then I’m going to take your answers to my butcher and say:

“All right, boys. The customers have spoken. Can you cut it?”

And knowing my butchers, I have a feeling they’re going to say, “Bring us the beef.”

So let’s hear it.

PICK YOUR STEAK!

What specialty cut would you like to see us add to the Not Forgotten Farmstead website?

OUR FARM. OUR BEEF. OUR BUTCHER. YOUR STEAK. 🥩🇺🇸
