Centenary Community

For Sunday School this week, our children and youth learned that we are created in the image of God, and we also know and experience hard things that come with being human. Jesus came to earth to share this human experience and remind us how to see the divine in ourselves and everyone. We love and care for ourselves, others, and the earth. We connect in our shared stories and the things that bring us joy. And, we celebrate our differences and what makes us unique. Hard things are easier to handle when we connect with others.

Love is an action and we showed that this weekend at Macon Pride! From serving on the board, representing other organizations at booths, welcoming folks to our church table, standing with angel wings on as the angel brigade, and singing in the community choir for Interfaith Pride Worship, it was a blessing to see so many Centenary faces sharing love, welcoming others, and spreading joy! May you all remember the strength that comes from community and that together we are unbreakable! Happy Pride y’all!

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend for PRIDE! A reminder that location has changed for both activities - Pride in the park is in front of the Tubman Museum from 2-8pm and Interfaith Worship is at 4pm at Rosa Parks Square!

What a wonderful blood drive yesterday! 20 folks were able to donate and be a part of sharing life with others…which can serve up to 60 individuals in the hospital! Our next blood drive is November 19 from 1-6pm so save the date!

Dr. Gloria Cisse and Commissioner Andrea Cooke came and shared with us on Sunday the impact of the lunches for school kids this summer at Booker T Washington! THANK YOU to the many small groups, families, neighborhood organizations and individuals that came together and made sure children had food to fill their belly while school was out. We’re certainly not supposed to do life alone and this Sunday showed us why this community work is so important!
