Rocky Acres Ranch

Meet "Firefly"!!!
The last few months I was considering bringing in a new color of brahma. Black mottled was high on my list... very high, but they are hard to find!
Luckily I scored this young guy on a chicken site, he was a short 1.5 hr drive to pick him up this afternoon!
Plans with him are to breed him with my solid lavender and solid black brahma hens in the spring. Those babies will carry the mottled gene, and then the following generation will produce lavender mottled and black mottled babies.
So excited to add these to RAR! This will be a very rewarding project to work on.
Thank you Brittany for taking such great care raising him!

Updates from RAR customers make my day! When they take the RAR birds to the fair. Salmon favorelles placed very well!
Thank you Michelle!

Happy Labor Day!!!
Enjoy this day, whether you're with friends and family
or a day with your fur/feathered kids!

Fun facts!
I love my big , poofy birds!
No wonder my coops look like a pillow explosion this time of year, with the Rocky Acres flocks molting!!!

What a gorgeous afternoon!
Pretty sure the RAR flocks agree!
The humidity is g.o.n.e.
Anyone else have some photos to share?!?

I love these kind of posts😂😂
Can anyone else relate?!?
I have 1 silkie boy that I have to block the door so he doesn't "get me"😍🤣😅

The farm princess has a son!!!
This bird has been asked about many times. She seems to be quite social too, as when we have guests at the farm, she has a habit of being nearby to show off her beauty ❤️
Chocolate silver birchen orpington. She's 2 yrs old and has given me several babies to adore this summer.
