A great way to stay weather aware is enabling Wireless Emergency Alerts on your cellphones.πŸ“±

These free alerts are sent by trusted officials, like the National Weather Service, and based on your location.

Other ways to stay weather aware:
πŸ“» NOAA Weather Radio.
πŸ“Ί Local News.
⚠️ Local alerts by signing up where available.
πŸ”Š Outdoor warning sirens.

Remember have more than one way to receive alerts!

Due to active weather in southern Wisconsin today and Thursday, the NOAA Weather Radio required weekly test has been postponed until 12 PM Friday afternoon. Any NOAA Weather Radio alerts you hear today or tomorrow will be related to severe weather warnings.

For more than a year, investigative journalist Byard Duncan from the "Reveal" program traveled the country for an in-depth report on the current state of 9-1-1 across America. The program, which aired on NPR stations across America, includes a report from NENA's most recent 9-1-1 Goes to Washington advocacy event and highlights NENA members' advocacy for NG9-1-1 funding and reclassification of 9-1-1 telecommunicators.
