Throughout our summer appeal, we've been reflecting on stories and quotes that speak to our work and our team. Top of mind when we started this exercise was a Robin Wall Kimmerer passage from Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants:

“If one [pecan] tree fruits, they all fruit—there are no soloists. Not one tree in a grove, but the whole grove; not one grove in the forest, but every grove; all across the county and all across the state. The trees act not as individuals, but somehow as a collective. Exactly how they do this, we don’t yet know. But what we see is the power of unity. What happens to one happens to us all. We can starve together or feast together. All flourishing is mutual.”

We strive to embody this in our work -to act and succeed as a member of our community, all together.

June 27th Pizza Dinner

La Brioche and REAP Food Group Present:

A Summer Pizza Dinner Series

Saturday, June 27th from 5:30-8:00pm

Proceeds support REAP Food Group’s mission to cultivate connections with communities to build a resilient local food system.

In addition to food offerings, guests will have access to a cash bar that features craft cocktails and wine.

REAP and have been working in collaboration for years behind-the-scenes, and we're thrilled that Maize's wholesale market network is launched and live, built with feedback from REAP farmers.

Join us at Madison College on June 23rd from 12pm to 2pm to celebrate the launch, learn about the collaboration, and learn how we can support your selling and purchasing goals on Maize moving forwards! We'll be providing a light lunch, a presentation, and a chance to network for local vendors and buyers.

We've been thrilled and lucky to welcome 7 new members to our board of directors this past spring!

These individuals have a wide range of knowledge and skills across the food system, and will join our current board members in stewarding REAP's mission and guiding our work throughout the state.

When people ask what REAP stands for, they usually think of our old acronym (Research, Education, Action, Policy). While we do that work more than ever, REAP is no longer just words on a page, it’s an action.

It’s the daily work of disrupting a broken food system to build a local economy that values our land, our laborers, and our community's health. 

For 29 years, we’ve been sowing the seeds. Now, we are finally REAPing the harvest of:

Today, we are launching our Annual Summer Appeal. While fields are full and markets are busy, summer is actually a period of low cash flow for our operations. We rely on this campaign to keep our staff on the ground and our projects moving forward.
