Our federal mission is to provide trained units, Soldiers and Airmen to support our nation’s defense priorities both in the United States and around the world as directed by the president of the United States of America. Our community and state mission is to assist civil authorities protect life and property, as well as preserve peace, order and public safety during emergencies, as directed by the governor of the state of Wisconsin. We are small business owners, teachers, nurses, electricians, plumbers, college students, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and more. We train and work to be Always Ready, Always There, ready to step in and help wherever needed. And we do this at a significant value for American taxpayers. Although we make up 20% of the U.S. Joint Force capability, we require only 4% of the defense budget. Additionally, we use our mission readiness and capabilities to give back to our local communities. This past weekend, the Wisconsin National Guard Child & Youth Program and North Winds Rescue & Healing welcomed military children to Little Hooves Horse Day Camp and Teen Equestrian Camp! 🐴

Participants learned about horse grooming, leading, groundwork, painting, and basic equine care and behavior, while building confidence and connections through hands-on experiences.

It was an amazing opportunity for military children to connect with horses, one another, and a supportive resource that highlights the healing benefits of the human-animal bond. 🙌
