Today I am 9 years sober.

I take this time to reflect every year on all of the blessings I have in my life, and thank myself and my loved ones for helping me get here. I am grateful to still know that I am powerless over my addiction and that surrender is the greatest form of pursuit.

Life lately 😌

Life Update ⬇️🫡

- I got a haircut! Hooray!
- .faith and I get married in 11 days! Hooray!!!
- 2 years ago today my father passed away (not very hooray, I’d say) and I think it’s hilarious how similar I am looking to him these days (see comparison between slides 2 and 3)
- I’ve had this absolute hellscape of an app deleted for weeks now because I can’t manage how detrimental it has become to my mental health. The power structures that continually benefit and profit from these platforms they’ve built are inherently harmful to the collective human spirit. We deserve better from each other, and I don’t know how I can continue engaging with something that is so blatantly destructive.
- I’ve been making a film with an incredible team and am almost finished with my first album with another incredible team of people and as much as I desperately want to share it and everything about it, I can’t seem to bring myself to funnel these labors of love into the toxic wasteland that is shredding the very social fabric that my art is built from.
- I don’t have a solution, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned in recovery, it’s that asking for help and accepting there’s a problem is sometimes all you can do, so this is me airing my heart out to y’all and doing just that.
- If you’ve made it this far, shoot me a text and let me know about cool stuff that’s going on so that I can come and support/be a part of it.
- I love my dad and today sucks and that’s okay :)
