Tara Lila is the first forest bathing trail certified in Wisconsin by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, which has certified around 50 trails worldwide. “Forest bathing is an immersive experience in nature, whether self-guided or led by a guide, allows you to be completely present and connected with the forest,” said Cindy Conlon, a certified forest therapy guide. Roughly 500 people came to watch the sold-out “Hay Rake Ballet” in Sauk County earlier this month. Choreographer Sarah Gordon Butler was commissioned by the Wormfarm Institute to put on the show, where local farmers moved their tractors through a series of carefully choreographed moves while accompanied by classical music. 'Farming with flair': Tractor ballet turns hay baling into art This September, five hundred people bought tickets and turned up at a family farm in southern Wisconsin, so they could watch hay being baled. The sold-out “Hay Rake Ballet” turned farm machinery into art.

When Elizabeth Renner first moved to Madison from Chicago, she was struck by the popularity of the tuba and Wisconsin’s love of polka music.
“It’s funny to me, everyone knows someone who plays tuba,” Renner said.
Her curiosity led her to WPR’s WHYsconsin with two questions: Why are tubas such a prominent part of the UW-Madison band? And why are they so popular in the state of Wisconsin?
