Cancer patients in the Brainerd Lakes region needed comprehensive care in one location—with faster access and environments that honored their dignity throughout treatment. Lakewood Health System stepped up, expanding their oncology program with a dedicated physician and a new Cancer Center offering medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, infusion therapy, and palliative care.

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls' new Science and Technology (SciTech) Innovation Center is an innovative learning facility where future scientists and engineers partner with faculty and industry leaders in the learning process. Housing programs including chemistry, biology, physics, and psychology along with an integrated University and Business Collaboration Center, SciTech creates a place where employers and students can interact through internships, research projects, presentations, strategic discussions, and more.

Avera Health is growing the Avera on Louise Health Campus with a new medical office building that houses digestive health services and provides capacity for other specialties, freeing space for orthopedic services at Avera Specialty Hospital while allowing a 100% increase in GI procedures. The new building supports Avera’s vision of creating a destination for specialty services with convenient access to high-quality healthcare for Sioux Falls.

It was a pleasure to speak at the recent I2SL: International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories Annual Conference, where BWBR’s César Honorio-Arroyo and Jackie Peck joined Dunham Associates, Inc.’s Wesley Schlichting to share lab design insights.
