The Madison Scouts mourn the passing of Steve Vickers, a longtime member of our Board of Directors, Madison Scouts Hall of Famer, DCI Hall of Famer, and one of the drum corps activity’s most dedicated advocates and historians. For decades, Steve gave generously of his time and leadership to the Scouts, including helping make our historic 1988 European Tour possible, while his more than 50 years as owner and publisher of Drum Corps World chronicled and preserved the stories of generations across the activity. Steve’s commitment to the Madison Scouts and to drum corps was extraordinary, and his impact will endure in the history he helped create and so faithfully preserved. May You Never Walk Alone, Steve.
