Big congratulations to Tom for earning his TDI Air Diluent CCR rating on the KISS Classic rebreather! WOOOO!

Tom already holds an Advanced Trimix Diver card for open circuit diving that allows him to dive to 300 feet. So he has decided that he's coming back in a couple weeks to upgrade his just earned rebreather rating to Helitrox Diluent CCR so that he can continue to put hours on his rebreather and still get out in late season to the shipwrecks in the Milwaukee area that he loves!

This looks really cool and like a lot of fun! Several of us from the shop have already reserved tickets for the December 3rd, 7PM showing!

Kim and Megan were co-teaching open water certification dives at Pearl Lake this last weekend. Here are some snap shots that were taken of the group gearing up on Saturday!

Temps are cooling down but there's still 2 more weekends of diving at Pearl before the season ends. Remember we're offering $35 rental rates for the next two weeks for those wanting to get in a bit more practice!

These small, energetic Caribbean reef fish are named for the striking half and half coloration: the front of the body is deep velvety black with a yellow/orange belly, while the rear is a bright, translucent pearl white, creating a sharp mid body contrast that makes the species easy to spot. Adults usually reach 2–3 inches and live among patch reefs, rubble zones, and spur and groove formations, where they hover just above the substrate picking off tiny planktonic crustaceans. They are territorial, defending small feeding areas with surprising boldness for their size. During breeding, males clear and guard nest sites, vigorously tending eggs until they hatch. Their abundance and distinctive look make them one of the most familiar residents of Caribbean reefs. Anyone care to guess their name?

Mike completed a PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course with us last week. He took Nitrox to go on a liveaboard in the Galapagos with his friends! How cool is that!

This specialty course is on constant rotation twice each month. Simply complete the elearning at PADI.com and let us know when you're ready to come in. We can schedule you for the remaining practical exercises. It takes less than an hour's time and without even getting wet!

And... you don't have to wait to use Nitrox only on vacation. For those certified and wanting to stay down a little longer while avoiding decompression, we fill Nitrox right in our store!

I was up before the sun to go to Pearl and train some new divers! 

Beautiful weekend ahead with sunny weather and warmer temps! We have classes heading out to Pearl Lake, Lake Mendota and Lake Wazee. And, some of our staff are traveling down to the NSS Midwest Cave Diving conference in Missouri where they're hoping to log a few dives while out in the Ozarks.

Tom got started on rebreather training with us with this new-to-him KISS Classic CCR. On Friday we tore the rebreather down to the o-rings, sanitized all of the components and built it back up. Over the weekend he was able to rack up four and a half hours underwater and dive it to 100 feet at Lake Wazee! He'll be back next weekend to finish up and start adding hours to qualify for the next courses!
