Life Lab for our students today was all about fun on the surface, but this was more than a game.
The students got acquainted with our VR headsets and then played a game where one person had to defuse a bomb with the help of teammates who had the manual for defusing it. It required clear, efficient communication to get the job done before the timer ran out.
In the workforce, communication is key. And while you might not blow something up, if you aren’t communicating well, mistakes happen, things get missed, and the whole team can feel the impact.
Today was a fun way for our students to practice something they’ll use in just about every job they have: listening, communicating clearly, working as a team, and staying calm when the clock is ticking.
Also, thank you to Marco's Pizza in Madison for providing our students with lunch today!

Check out this happy bunch that received their first set of certifications! In addition to a CPR certification from their first Life Lab, our Mechatronics students are now certified to work with Snap-on multimeters, giving them skills and credentials they can put to work as they prepare for the workforce. And this is just the beginning!

The first week of class also means the first Life Lab of the semester, and we started off with one that can save lives — CPR! Tasha is a great instructor and after having a great lunch courtesy of Chick-fil-A Madison (AL), the students got to work and left for the day with new CPR certifications!

Everyone's heading back to school this week, and that includes KTECH! Class 25 had orientation Monday and has hit the ground running. This week, Karl is taking the students through a math refresher course before they get into the real fun stuff next week. We're excited about this class and can't wait to see them progress through the next 16 weeks!

Who knows? We may have met a few future KTECH students last week.
Students from Madison City Schools' Liberty Middle School EL Camp visited KTECH to explore robotics, mechatronics, soldering, and virtual reality while learning about the many career paths these skills can open.
After touring our labs, they tackled a hands-on precision measurement activity using industry-grade equipment and got a taste of the technical training that helps prepare students for careers in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, and the skilled trades.
Thanks for spending the day with us, Madison City Schools! We hope to see some familiar faces back at KTECH in the years ahead. 🤖🔧✨

Congratulations to our summer robotics graduates, Le-Anh, Dwayne, and Josef! They spent an intensive week building some valuable skills in basic robotics operation and programming, adding hands-on experience and industry-recognized training to their growing skill sets. We're proud of all they've accomplished and excited to see what's next for them.

Summer robotics class has been in full swing this week! We have four students who have been taking this week-long intensive class to get certifications for robotics programming and operations. Next week, our summer soldering class will be doing the same thing!

Such a sweet gesture from i3 Cares ! They came by recently with a fantastic donation from their Cupcakes for a Cause Bake Sale. The baked goodies may not have lasted long, but the impact of their generosity will! 🍰🧁💜

We're grateful to Marco's Pizza, Chick-fil-A Madison (AL) , cocina , Shaggy's Burgers and Tacos, City Barbeque, and Kroger for providing lunches for our campers as they spent the week building new skills, exploring technology, and preparing for future careers. A special thank you as well to Huntsville Coca-Cola for supplying drinks throughout the week.
Your generosity helped make Camp KTECH an even better experience for every student who participated. Thank you for investing in the next generation of our workforce!

After two weeks, Camp KTECH has wrapped up, and we're already missing these campers and their enthusiasm for learning! 😭
We had two incredible sessions filled with building, breaking, drilling, soldering, programming, and so much more. Along the way, campers explored real-world STEM skills, solved problems, worked together in teams, and discovered new talents!
Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer. We can't wait to do it all again next year!
