Mystic River Rugby Club

Join us in welcoming our new Forwards Coach, Kitt Ruiz! 🏉

Kitt is the current Head Coach of the Boston Banshees and represented the USA as a player at both the 2010 and 2014 Rugby World Cups.

🔵⚪️Results from Saturday. Both sides are onto next week.

Our ARP side travelled down to NYAC for a rematch of Week 1. After falling behind early, the Mystic defense tightened up and put NYAC under pressure, but we couldn’t find enough points to complete the comeback. Oliver Fussell found the try zone twice for Mystic, while Ale Lopeti led the way defensively with a spirited effort. Plenty to build on as we look ahead to the next one.

Our NERFU side travelled to Weymouth for their first road match of the season. Mystic struggled to find offensive continuity early, while Boston capitalized on turnovers to build an early lead. The team showed improvement in the second half, with Alex Appel scoring Mystic’s lone try after a well-executed sequence, but the slow start proved costly in a lopsided loss.

NERFU runs away from Newport opening the season 2-0.

ARP lets one get away in the second half.
