Strength training and bodybuilding are NOT the same thing!

Bodybuilding focuses on building muscle size and appearance, while strength training focuses on getting stronger and improving performance.

For athletes, strength training is essential for developing power, speed, stability, and resilience against injuries.

🏋️ Train for performance, not just appearance.

Your workout starts the process. Recovery helps your muscles grow. 💪

Strength training signals your body to build muscle, but it needs enough protein, food, and sleep to support that work.

What you do between workouts matters just as much as showing up.

Follow Training Ed for simple tips to get stronger and train smarter!

Good bracing helps you…

Protect your lower back
Transfer force more efficiently
Stay stronger under load
Maintain better positioning during your lifts

Think of your core like a support system. The more stable your trunk is, the better the rest of your body can produce force.

Learning how to brace properly is one of the simplest ways to make your training safer and stronger.

“What’s the point of taking care of your body? We’re all going to get old anyway.”

Getting older is inevitable, but losing every bit of strength, mobility, and independence doesn’t have to be.

The way you train and take care of your body now can influence what you’re capable of later. Maybe the goal isn’t to look young forever. Maybe it’s being able to climb stairs, carry groceries, play with your grandkids, travel, stay independent… or even pole vault at 95.

You’re going to age either way.

Train for the kind of life you still want to be living when you do.

Some of the most productive training sessions end with a little left in the tank.

The goal isn’t to destroy yourself every workout, it’s to train hard enough to make progress while still being able to recover and come back consistently.

Follow Training Ed for fitness advice built for the long run.

Training harder won’t fix sleeping 4 hours a night.

Sleep isn’t just time when your body shuts down. It’s when your body recovers and adapts to the training you’re doing.

Quality sleep supports coordination, reaction time, strength and power output, endurance, and your ability to recover between sessions. Consistently cutting your sleep short can also make it harder to perform at your best and recover from hard training.

So if you’re exhausted, sore, and not seeing the progress you expect, adding another workout might not be the answer.

Before adding more stress to your body, take a look at your recovery.

Follow for more ways to train smarter, recover better, and stay strong for life.
