BREAKING🚨🏳️‍🌈 A federal judge just ordered Pete Hegseth to explain why testosterone is a health benefit for cisgender troops but somehow makes transgender soldiers unfit to serve.

On July 15, Hegseth posted a video titled "The High-T Department of War" announcing that troops 30 and older will get annual testosterone screening, and anyone found low can voluntarily receive testosterone replacement therapy. He called it restoring "your natural capabilities" and said, "We owe our warriors the absolute best medical care in the world."

The judge put that video next to the language of the transgender ban itself, which says troops must meet high standards "without the benefit of routine medical treatment or special provisions." She's now demanding the Pentagon explain its "basis for treating trans men and other service members differently between this new policy and the Military Ban."

Because it's the EXAC same hormone. Testosterone prescribed to a cisgender man with low levels and testosterone prescribed to a trans man both require regular prescriptions, lab testing, and medical supervision. The administration has spent months arguing that ongoing hormone care makes trans troops an expense and a readiness risk.

Judge Reyes already gutted the cost argument once. When she first blocked the ban, she noted the military spent roughly $41 million on Vi**ra in 2023 alone, and called trans health care "not even a rounding error." She's called the ban "soaked in animus and dripping with pretext."

She laid out six questions for both sides before an August 7 briefing, including the actual costs of screening and treating cis troops, and invited expert testimony. And this reaches far beyond a few plaintiffs.

In June she certified the case as a class action, meaning the outcome could bind every trans servicemember covered by the ban.

June 1 marks two significant moments in the struggle for justice, liberation, and human rights.

Today, we remember the victims and survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre, when a white mob—enabled by local authorities and the deputization of white civilians—destroyed the thriving Greenwood District, known as Black Wall Street. We honor the lives stolen, the communities shattered, and the generations who carried forward the fight for racial justice.

Today also marks the beginning of 🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ Pride month 🏳️‍⚧️, a celebration rooted not in corporate sponsorships or parades, but in resistance. Pride traces its origins to the Stonewall uprising, when q***r and transgender people fought back against police harassment, violence, and criminalization.

These histories are connected through struggles against state violence, systems of oppression, and through the lives of Black LGBTQ+ people who stood at their intersections.

Today, we mourn those who were taken from us. We celebrate those whose courage transformed our world. And we recommit ourselves to the unfinished work of racial justice, q***r liberation, and collective flourishing.

College is hard enough without systems that make it harder to show up as your full self.

That’s why community matters—and why we invest in each other. 💜

Kansas universities can’t offer LGBTQ+ scholarships right now—not because the need disappeared, but because state lawmakers changed the rules.

Last year, the Kansas state budget proviso eliminated funding for DEI programs and positions at public universities. In practice, that means schools are no longer allowed to offer identity-based scholarships—including those that specifically support LGBTQ+ students.

The impact is real.

At a time when many LGBTQ+ students are:
🏳️‍🌈Being pushed out of their homes for who they are
🏳️‍⚧️Navigating harassment or hate—and the trauma that follows
🎓Balancing school while managing trauma, isolation, financial instability, and hostile learning climates.

Public institutions have been stripped of tools they once used to support them.

But while universities can’t—we can.
