Strengthened by community partnership, Treehouse Theater (THT) has been supporting youth education and development through quality performing arts programming since 2012. Once limited to Manitowoc and Two Rivers, families now come as far as Sheboygan, Brillion, and Green Bay to participate in programming and join in the audiences. Since 2012, THT has featured 2,000+ youth in 30+ local musical productions, won awards at the Junior Theater Festival national competitions in Atlanta, designed and renovated their 11,000 sq ft studio, and presented numerous fundraising events to sustain their mission. Year-round operations of this nonprofit are guided by the Board of Directors. Karen Rohrer, integral founder of the organization, serves as full-time Executive Director. Karen is joined by part-time team members: Erin Nycz, Education Director; Danielle Frahm, Office Manager; and John Iannitello, Facility Manager. THT secures a fresh directing team for each musical and any interested student can choose to audition for the opportunity to appear onstage as cast members, apply as Jr. production team members, or volunteer to assist as members of the stage or technical crews. Each cast is a blend of new and returning student actors, all of whom are encouraged to explore their artistic individuality, be creative and responsible, improve their listening skills, and gain self-confidence while making new friends. Each theater class and musical production attracts students from multiple public and private schools as well as from home school settings. The Spring 2023 production of "SHREK JR" featured 62 student actors who attend 27 different schools or are home schooled. THT takes great pride in exceeding the commonly low expectations for youth theater and audiences are repeatedly impressed by the high-quality sets, costumes, lighting, sound, and talent level of the student performers. BRANCHING OUT
THT earned a full grant to purchase the building at 910 Washington St in downtown Manitowoc in July of 2019. The expansive THT volunteer base - including 175+ staff, board members, community arts enthusiasts, youth and families – completed over 5,000 hours of labor to demolish and revitalize this amazing new youth arts center. Grand Opening was June 1, 2021. For more information, please visit www.treehousetheater.com

WE ARE IN OUR TEEN ERA, AND WE ARE DOING ALL THE AURA FARMING FOR THE CAUSE!!
(For the parents- aura farming is being effortlessly cool...repetitively... like on a monthly basis!! ;) )
Treehouse Theater is celebrating our 15th season, and just like any teenager, we’re growing, learning, dreaming BIG… and still need a little help from our community.
Want to be part of what makes Treehouse possible? Become a monthly donor!
For just $15 a month, you can help support the students who walk through our doors by helping provide things like:
✨ Scholarships that make theater accessible to more students
🎭 Costumes, props & production supplies
🎤 Classes, workshops & theater education
💡 The behind-the-scenes equipment that makes productions happen
🌟 Opportunities for students to perform, grow and discover what they’re capable of
And because 15 is our number this season, we’re making it even more fun!
Starting in November, the month of giving, ALL Treehouse monthly donors will be entered into a monthly drawing for tickets to an upcoming Main Stage production!
That means your $15/month gift supports students AND gives you a chance to enjoy the magic from the audience.
Help us celebrate 15 years by becoming part of the Treehouse family of monthly donors. ❤️
$15 a month. A lasting impact. A whole lot of theater magic.

🚨 HELP US GET THE ADDAMS FAMILY HOME 🚨
We’re moving our Addams Family set this Sunday early afternoon and we could use some help getting our creepy and kooky set from Treehouse to their new home at the University Theater, UW Manitowoc. Just look at Pugsley. He clearly cannot move this set himself.
Got a trailer we could borrow, and a vehicle to pull it? You could be the hero of the weekend!🖤
BONUS - we’ll sweeten the deal with TWO FREE TICKETS to The Addams Family AND Aladdin Jr.! 🎭✨
Know someone who might be willing to help? Tag them below or send us a message!
Do it for Pugsley! Look at him. He’s been through enough.

Every morning, our Managing Director enjoys a little game of:
“Whose hat is this?”
“How did THREE jackets end up here?”
“Does anyone recognize this shoe?”
“Surely someone needs this backpack…”
“We’re not even going to talk about the sock.”
Parents & students: Before you leave the studio, take a quick look around and make sure you have EVERYTHING you came with. ❤️
Because while Jeanette appreciates having a morning activity…
she would really like to retire from the Lost & Found Department.
** If you recognize something in our Lost & Found photos, CLAIM IT! And please remind your student: Your stuff would like to go home with you. **
