Compassionate therapy for individuals and couples navigating relationships, anxiety, trauma, identity, life transitions, and emotional patterns.

LGBTQ+ affirming, culturally responsive, and spiritually integrated. I’m Christian Longue Dessug, also known as Coach Chris, founder of Bantu Roots Holistic Healing Center. I provide client-centered therapy, mental health coaching, relationship support, and personal development services for individuals and couples. My work is grounded in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy. Together, we explore the deeper roots of your emotions, relationship patterns, fears, coping strategies, and recurring challenges so you can understand not only what you do, but why you do it. Therapy with me helps you identify and unlearn patterns that may have once protected you but now limit your confidence, relationships, and emotional well-being. Through insight, emotional processing, nervous-system regulation, and intentional mental health repatterning, you learn healthier ways of responding to yourself, others, and life. My goal is not to control your choices or make you dependent on therapy. It is to help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional control, confidence, and flexibility so you can create lasting change and navigate future challenges with greater freedom. My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and open to integrating spirituality when it supports the client’s healing and personal values.

Spiritual bypassing happens when spiritual language helps us avoid the feeling instead of move through it. Healing can be sacred and emotionally honest at the same time.

Why can’t I ask for help even when I need it? Sometimes hyper-independence is less about strength and more about avoiding the risk of disappointment. The goal is not dependence. It is flexibility.

Family roles do not always end when childhood ends. Sometimes the helper, fixer, peacekeeper, or “mature one” becomes the adult who can hold everybody else and struggles to let anybody hold them. Understanding the role is not about blaming your family. It is about deciding which parts still serve you. Save this for your next family-of-origin reflection.

You can spend your whole life carrying what others expect… or finally choose yourself.

Put the weight down. Your life is waiting.

You can look reliable, productive and completely “fine” while something underneath is running on fumes. High-functioning distress can hide behind competence: irritability, perfectionism, constant tension, or exhaustion that rest does not seem to touch. Sometimes we learn to perform “okay” because struggling out loud never felt safe or welcome. Functioning is not the same as being okay. Send this to the person everyone assumes is strong.
