Meet Sir Trembleton—a tiny knight with a very brave heart that's still learning the world isn't quite so scary.

This adult, intact Shih Tzu mix was found as a stray outside an apartment building. Although he has a microchip, it isn't registered and couldn't be traced back to an implant facility, leaving us with no way to locate his family. With no owner coming forward, Sir Trembleton is now searching for a fresh start with a rescue partner.

His noble title comes honestly. When life feels overwhelming, Sir Trembleton can become so frightened that his entire little body trembles. The kennel environment has been especially difficult for him, and all the unfamiliar sights, sounds, and activity make it hard for him to relax.

The good news? Once he's outside the noisy kennel, it's like meeting a different little dog. Away from all the commotion, Sir Trembleton becomes much more friendly, social, and eager to interact with people. While he's still a sensitive soul, he's clearly capable of building trust when he's in a calmer environment where he feels safe.

Beneath those worried eyes is a gentle little dog who simply needs time, patience, and kindness to build his confidence. A quiet foster home with a predictable routine will go a long way in helping him realize that the scary chapter of his life is behind him.

Sir Trembleton may not feel like the bravest knight just yet, but every great hero starts somewhere. With the support of a dedicated rescue and a patient family, we're confident this sweet little gentleman will trade trembling for tail wags and discover just how wonderful life can be.

Meet Duke Yardstick of Houndshire—a distinguished gentleman whose title is impressive, but whose legs are even more so.

This neutered hound mix seems to have been built from spare stilts, with impossibly long legs that make him look like he could trot across the countryside in just a few strides. Despite his regal name and towering stature, Duke is an absolute sweetheart. He's friendly, affectionate, and genuinely enjoys spending time with people.

Duke has been a pleasure to have around, greeting everyone he meets with a wagging tail and a kind heart. Unfortunately, that enthusiastic tail has become a bit too happy. He's developed happy tail, a condition where repeated wagging against the hard kennel walls causes the tip of the tail to split open and makes it difficult to heal. Because of this, Duke would greatly benefit from getting out of the kennel environment as soon as possible so his tail can finally have a chance to recover.

This lanky lord is more than ready to trade concrete walls for a cozy home where he can stretch those legendary legs, shower his people with affection, and wag his tail without worrying about reinjuring it.

Now Duke Yardstick of Houndshire is searching for a rescue partner that can help him find the forever kingdom he deserves. Hear ye, hear ye! Presenting Sir Skedaddleton, a 7-month-old Border Collie puppy and self-appointed Duke of Zoomies, Baron of Bedlam, and Knight of Questionable Decisions.

This handsome young nobleman is full of puppy shenanigans and possesses approximately three speeds: skedaddle, faster skedaddle, and "who gave me this much energy?" Equal parts brilliant and mischievous, he's always plotting his next adventure.

Like any proper Border Collie, Sir Skedaddleton is whip-smart, incredibly food motivated, and learns quickly. Give him a snack and he'll happily enroll in Puppy University with honors. His busy brain and boundless energy make him an ideal candidate for an active home that can provide plenty of training, enrichment, and opportunities to shine.

Sir Skedaddleton is seeking transfer to one of our rescue partners, where he can continue his noble pursuits of zooming, learning, and charming everyone he meets. This young lord is ready to skedaddle his way straight into someone's heart.

Meet Molly

Molly recently came to the shelter as a stray, and unfortunately her owner could not be reached. She’s now looking for a quiet foster home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

This sweet girl is not in the best shape right now — she is thin and appears to have dealt with chronic ear infections that will need some ongoing care and attention. Even so, Molly has remained incredibly gentle and loving with people. She is calm, quiet, and has a very sweet nature.

We are still learning how Molly does with other dogs, so at this time we think she would do best in a peaceful, patient home where she can decompress and receive the TLC she deserves.

Molly has clearly been through a lot, but she is kind-hearted, trusting, and ready for a fresh start with someone willing to help her heal.

We have 4 orphaned kittens that are in need of transfer ASAP!! Three are eating a canned food/milk replacer gruel pretty well, one is not eating so well. They are all friendly with people.

Meet Puzzle! This elusive little feline was safely caught in a live trap after spending time as a stray. While being removed from the trap, a bite incident occurred when someone reached inside—a good reminder that frightened cats can react when they're feeling scared and overwhelmed.

Puzzle is finding shelter life to be a bit too much right now and is understandably keeping their distance while they adjust. Beneath the worried eyes is a cat who deserves the chance to decompress in a quiet, patient foster home where they can feel safe and show us who they really are.

Puzzle is looking for a rescue partner willing to provide foster placement and give them the time and space they need to blossom. Sometimes the shyest stories have the happiest endings.
