Deion Sanders Put $150,000 of His Salary Into Jackson State’s Football Facility
While serving as Jackson State’s head football coach, Deion Sanders pledged $150,000—half of his $300,000 annual salary—to help complete renovations to the Tigers’ football facility. In July 2022, Sanders learned that the project’s budget had run out while construction remained unfinished, with fall camp approaching.
He decided to contribute half of his salary to help accelerate the work. The renovated facility included a new locker room, coaches’ offices, meeting spaces and a players’ lounge, with Sanders pushing to have the project completed before the start of fall camp.
