Rusty Pearls

This gorgeous chinoiserie mirror is for sale. I’ve had it for years and once we painted the room Picture Gallery Red i was ready for a change. This measures 41” square and is heavy.

How much is too much? Picked these up on Monday. This person had an amazing collection. This was just a fraction of what they had. I’ve already found a home of the pair of dogs on cobalt bases in my home of course. And the spaniel family on cobalt base to is also at home here. The rest are going to my booth today at the Antique Company Mall today. These are all antique

Moved things around added wonderful new items plus changed the wallpaper on the sidewalls. Next week we’ll be painting the back wall.

Before and after. I used New Life Furniture Masque and Kramers Blemish Clarifier to clean years and years of Danish Oil, Old English, and whatever else was used on this that covered the grain painting on this 1830s tallcase clock

Last week we brought home a clock that some would think was a hot mess because it was. The door was off the top and missing glass. It was missing the center post of the bonnet top, the crown or whatever it’s called that’s between the top posts and the finials. It was also very dark from years of someone coating the wood in Danish Oil or Old English but i could see it was grain painted. I spent days cleaning off that crap before waxing it and my husband made a center post and a crown. He also got it working. I bought 3 antique brass finials off eBay that haven’t come yet but yesterday I remembered i bought a set of 3 last year at an estate sale that work. Now i think I’m keeping this antique early 1800s grain painted tallcase clock for a while before i sell it.

When the cowgirl chest is gone you mix a little but of beach with a little bit of cowgirl and throw in a pretty vintage cast metal garden table with lion heads or maybe they’re gargoyles.
