There is something transformative about taking your workout outdoors when fall arrives. (Yes, we live in Texas and it's still 80 degrees, but it is cooler than it was a week ago. It counts!)
Moving your run, bike ride, or walk outside isn't just a change of scenery, it offers real benefits that an indoor workout can't match:
đ§ Mental reset: Natural light and green spaces lower cortisol levels and significantly boost your mood.
đŞ Better engagement: Navigating real terrain activates secondary stabilizer muscles you rarely use on a flat treadmill or stationary bike.
âď¸ Vitamin D boost: Autumn sunshine provides a clean energy pick-me-up without the oppressive summer heat.
Whether you're looking for a smooth paved path for a morning ride or a dirt trail for a weekend walk, weâve rounded up the best outdoor spots across DFW to get moving:

We will hit the key points here, but unfortunately there are even more side effects than we can fit here.
Red #3 and #40 have been shown to increase the risk of thyroid tumors in animal studies, chemical changes in the brain, inflammation and a host of other problems.
Blue #1 and #2: These blue dyes have been known to cause tumors in mice and nervousness, fatigue, and lack of concentration in humans.
Aspartame: Aspartame has been linked to behavioral problems, headache, seizure, migraines, irritable moods, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It has also been associated with increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
Yellow #5 and #6: These food colorings have been associated with depression, difficulty sleeping, irritability, and (specifically in children) hyperactivity.
Monosodium Glutamate: MSG consumption has been associated with weight gain and metabolic syndrome in studies.
High Fructose Corn Syrup: HFCS has been linked to weight gain and diabetes.
Sodium Benzoate: studies have shown increases in hyperactivity in children, increases symptoms of ADHD, and when combined with vitamin C, it can convert to benzene, which has been associated with increased cancer risks.
Artificial flavors: several animal studies have shown a variety of flavors have a toxic effect on bone marrow cells, as well as inhibiting red blood cell production.
The key take away here is to do research on the ingredients in your food, and try to eat as naturally as possible. Do you have any other ingredients you try to avoid? Share in the comments below.

Struggling to stay consistent with your fitness goals? Turning exercise from a sporadic chore into an automatic habit comes down to strategy, not willpower.
Here are 7 proven tactics to help you stick with your workout routine:
Habit-Stack Your Workouts: Anchor your session to an existing daily routine (e.g., "Right after my morning coffee, I put on my running shoes").
Apply the 5-Minute Rule: On days you feel zero motivation, commit to just five minutes. If you still want to stop after five, give yourself permission to restâmost of the time, the hardest part is simply starting.
Track Effort, Not Just Outcomes: Log your completed sessions on a physical calendar or app. Seeing a visual streak creates momentum that you won't want to break.
Prepare the Night Before: Lay out your gym clothes, pack your bag, and set up your equipment ahead of time to eliminate friction in the morning.
Follow the "Never Miss Twice" Rule: Life happens and missed days are inevitable. Don't le that one skipped workout turn into two in a row.
Schedule Fitness Like an Appointment: Block off your workout time directly on your work calendar as a non-negotiable meeting with yourself.
Focus on Immediate Benefits: Shift your mindset away from long-term physical results and focus on how exercise makes you feel todayâlower stress, better energy, and improved sleep.
Which of these strategies are you putting into practice this week? Let us know in the comments below! đ

Taking prescriptions can keep symptoms at bay, but many everyday medications silently drain your body of essential vitamins and minerals.
When you rely on medications long-term, they can interfere with nutrient absorption, breakdown. Over time, these missing nutrients cause new side effects like fatigue, muscle cramps, low immunity, and brain fog, often resulting in prescriptions being added to manage symptoms caused by the original drug.
Statins: Deplete CoQ10 and Vitamin D, often causing muscle weakness and fatigue.
Metformin: Depletes Vitamin B12, Folate, and CoQ10, which damages nerve function and energy production.
Antacids: Suppress stomach acid, blocking absorption of Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, and Vitamin B12.
Antibiotics: Wipe out healthy gut flora, stopping your body's natural production of Vitamin K and key B vitamins.
Corticosteroids: Drain Calcium, Vitamin D, Magnesium, Potassium, and Selenium, accelerating bone loss and weakening immune function.
Diuretics: Flush out critical electrolytes like Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc, Sodium, and Vitamin B1 (Thiamine).
ACE Inhibitors: Lower Zinc levels, impacting immune function and cellular repair.
Birth Control: Depletes essential B-vitamins (Folate, B6, B12), Vitamin C, Magnesium, and Zinc, disrupting mood and metabolic balance.
Medications may serve as a temporary band-aid, but they don't fix the underlying root causes of health issues, and as shown above, they create their own nutritional deficits.
Our goal is to help you replenish these depleted nutrients, address the root cause of your health challenges, and support your body so you can work toward safely reducing or eliminating your reliance on medications altogether.
