“Modernization at mission speed is not the same as migration."
Too often, organizations move legacy applications to the cloud and call it modernization. The infrastructure changes, but the applications, processes, delivery model, and operating costs remain largely the same.
DMI takes a different approach.
For a major federal organization, we accelerated the modernization of 50 applications and services through a cloud-native transformation strategy that integrated automation, DevSecOps, modern engineering practices, and built-in security from day one. The result was rapid delivery of 235 successful releases while reducing monthly IT operations costs by 33%.
This wasn't a lift-and-shift exercise. It was a transformation of how software is built, secured, deployed, and operated.
Our modernization framework focuses on eliminating technical debt, automating delivery pipelines, modernizing architectures, and creating a scalable foundation that enables agencies to innovate faster and adapt to future mission needs.
The goal isn't simply moving applications to the cloud. The goal is delivering measurable mission outcomes faster, more securely, and at lower cost.

Technology investment is growing. So is the complexity organizations have to manage.
Gartner projected $1.04 trillion in banking and financial services IT spending in 2025. At that scale, adding technology without a strategy for how it fits together can create as much complexity as capability.
For financial organizations, scalability isn't just about adding capacity. Cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, devices, and day-to-day operations all need to remain secure and manageable as demands change.
DMI sees that challenge at scale. Across our public treasury and finance work, we provide lifecycle management for hundreds of applications and more than 5,000 hardware and mobile devices.
The goal isn't simply to support more technology. It's to build an environment that can absorb change without adding unnecessary complexity.
Scalability isn't measured by how much an organization can add. It's measured by how well the environment performs as it grows.

Most modernization plans assume you can take the system offline. Federal health infrastructure doesn't get that option.
A major U.S. federal health agency modernized a network serving thousands of users worldwide, without disrupting the public health and regulatory services running on it. DMI modernized the core, then made the work repeatable.

A digital workplace only works when employees can actually use it.
In its FY2025 governmentwide assessment, GSA found that fewer than half of agencies’ most viewed or used digital assets were fully conformant with Section 508 accessibility requirements.
That finding highlights a bigger digital workplace challenge. Giving employees more applications and collaboration tools doesn't automatically create a better work environment. Accessibility, usability, security, connectivity, and consistency all shape how effectively people can use technology to do their jobs.
A strong digital workplace brings those pieces together around the employee experience. Gartner recommends identifying and reducing "digital friction," the unnecessary effort employees encounter when using workplace data and technology.
For federal organizations, that means building an environment where people can access the information, applications, and support they need without technology becoming another obstacle.
DMI helps organizations modernize end-user environments with secure, accessible, and flexible workplace solutions designed around the people using them.
The best digital workplace isn't defined by how many tools you provide. It's defined by how well people can use them to get work done.

Zero Trust is a phased, enterprise-wide transformation that requires coordinated alignment of people, processes, governance, and technology across identity, devices, networks, applications, data, and security operations.
As defense organizations work toward DOD’s 2027 Zero Trust implementation target, the scale and complexity of that transformation continue to come into focus.
GAO’s 2025 review of 24 major DOD IT business programs highlighted the different stages organizations are navigating as they develop and execute their Zero Trust plans.
Advancing Zero Trust requires more than deploying additional security tools; it requires integrated, risk-informed controls that continuously evaluate identity, device health, context, behavior, and data sensitivity before granting or maintaining access.
A mature Zero Trust operating model integrates identity and access management, endpoint security, network enforcement, continuous monitoring, data protection, and automation into a unified, interoperable security environment.
DMI helps defense organizations connect these capabilities and advance Zero Trust across complex, evolving technology environments.

Healthcare environments are changing fast, and the attacks against them are changing with them.
Verizon's 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report found that System Intrusion accounted for 61% of breaches across the healthcare sector, up from 53% in last year's report.
Vulnerability exploitation has now overtaken stolen credentials as the leading way attackers get in, the first time in 19 years of the report, and the median time to remediate a critical vulnerability ran to 43 days.
That remediation window is where federal health agencies carry the most exposure as cloud and hybrid environments grow.
Identity, workloads, applications, data, and configurations each widen the attack surface, and each has to stay under continuous watch.
DMI applies Zero Trust principles and intelligent automation across cloud security posture management, identity and entitlement management, workload protection, data security posture management, and cloud detection and response.
Our cloud security solution meets the Advanced and Optimal maturity levels defined in CISA's Zero Trust Maturity Model 2.0.
Agencies can keep modernizing without bolting security on afterward.

For one major federal health organization, cloud modernization delivered more than a change in infrastructure.
DMI helped replace manual processes and aging on-premises systems with a secure hybrid-cloud environment built around automation and DevSecOps. The work delivered 50 applications and services, supported 235 successful releases, and reduced monthly IT operations costs by 33%.
The lesson is straightforward: moving workloads isn't the same as modernizing them.
Cloud environments need re-architecture, security, automation, and operations designed together from the start. That's how migration becomes a foundation for faster delivery and lower operational cost.
DMI helps federal organizations build scalable cloud environments designed to hold up long after migration is complete.

Last week, DMI brought together colleagues and partners supporting our customers on Capitol Hill for an evening of conversation and connection.
It was a great opportunity to step outside of the day-to-day work, strengthen relationships, and recognize the collaboration that helps support our customers and their missions.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening a success. We appreciate the continued partnership and the opportunity to connect with those we work alongside.

Mission decisions depend on having the right information available when it's needed.
Across one major defense personnel environment, DMI helps manage more than 330 million artifacts across 9 million records, supporting mission-critical information used by more than 1 million active users.
At that scale, collecting data isn't the hard part. The challenge is making it accessible, connected, governed, and useful across systems and teams.
DMI helped modernize this environment by transforming information stored in scanned images and PDFs into digital records, introducing APIs to improve data access, and building visualization capabilities that allow users to analyze information based on their roles.
That's what enterprise data services should enable: a trusted data foundation that turns information into something people can actually use.
The value of data isn't measured by how much you collect. It's measured by how confidently you can act on it.
