Today, we’re saying farewell to our summer interns, Jake and Josh, as they wrap up their final day with Legend Management Group and prepare to head back to Virginia Tech!
Throughout their internship, they had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn about the many areas that make up the multifamily industry. Special thanks to Karen Trueman and Andrew Davies, who lead our internship program, as they worked closely with Jacob and Josh throughout the summer, providing guidance and support along the way.
Their experience also included time with our onsite teams, who welcomed them into their communities, and our corporate departments, where they were able to learn more about the different areas of our business. As fellow Hokies, several of our Virginia Tech alumni at Legend also had the opportunity to connect with Jake and Josh, share their own experiences, and offer advice as they continue their education.
Legend’s internship program is designed to provide students with meaningful, real-world experience that goes beyond the classroom. By working directly with our teams, interns have the opportunity to build valuable skills, make professional connections, and gain firsthand experience in the multifamily industry.
We’re grateful to everyone who played a part in their experience this summer and wish Jake and Josh all the best as they return to Virginia Tech. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future!
Go Hokies!

Today is National Intern Day, and we couldn't let it pass without recognizing some incredible young professionals, past and present, who have spent time learning and growing with Legend.
This summer, we welcomed Josh and Jake from Virginia Tech's Property Management program as our 2026 interns. Over the past few months, they've experienced many different sides of our business, learned from our teams, visited our communities, and gained valuable insight into our industry. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and fresh perspective have made them a great addition to Team Legend.
Next week marks the end of their internship, but we hope it's just the beginning of a lasting relationship. Before they head back to school, they'll present their final project to our owners and Leadership Team, and we're excited to see all they've accomplished.
We're also proud to recognize our interns from years past:
• Zoee & Paisley
• Luke & Kenzie
• Bryce & Dalton
• Sarah & Jason
• Emma & Joe
• Michael
• Grant & Devin
• Sam, Noah & Caroline
• Schyler & Bennet
To all of our interns, past and present, thank you for choosing to spend part of your journey with Legend. We're proud of everything you've accomplished and look forward to seeing where your careers take you next.
Happy National Intern Day!

As National Apprenticeship Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize and spotlight two of our apprentices, Cesar Montiel and Giovanni Estevez.
Their experience over the past year reflects the purpose behind these programs, providing students with meaningful, hands-on opportunities while building a strong foundation for future careers in our industry. They’ve had the chance to work with our incredible teams at Elms Germantown and Elms Kendall Ridge, learning directly from experienced professionals and gaining real-world insight into the field.
Legend was proud to be one of the first companies in our region to partner with the Department of Labor’s apprenticeship program in Montgomery County, later expanding into Howard County. This year, we were excited to further our commitment to creating meaningful career pathways within the property management industry by supporting the launch of a new program in Fairfax County in partnership with Edison Academy.
Programs like these are made possible through the dedication of individuals like our Talent Acquisition Manager, Lauren Hall, who has played a key role in supporting and growing our apprenticeship efforts. In addition to her work at Legend, Lauren serves as the Workforce Development Chair for IREM Chapter 77 and has been instrumental in building connections between students, schools, and our industry.
We also want to recognize those who have come through the program before them. Apprentices like A.J. Montout and Hamzah Alangurli, who have since joined Legend full-time, working at Elms at the Refuge and Elms Shady Grove, showcasing the long-term impact of these programs.
At Legend, we’re committed to continuing this work, creating real opportunities, and investing in the next generation of talent. We’re proud to be part of their journey and look forward to what’s ahead!
