My kids trained me for this job. ❤️

I say this to my guests all the time at The Gathering Table—and this picture might be the proof.

Long before I was teaching cooking classes, I was teaching my own kids in the kitchen. There was a LOT of supervising, a little bit of patience (okay…maybe a LOT of patience 😂), and learning to accept that it probably wouldn’t be perfect—and the kitchen was definitely going to be a mess.

But those years taught me something I use in every class: teaching someone to cook isn't just about the recipe. It's about giving them the confidence to try, letting them get their hands dirty, and making the kitchen a fun place to be.

Looking at this picture of my daughter and me in our matching aprons, I guess I really was training for The Gathering Table all along. ❤️
