🚨 STOP SCROLLING… LET’S TALK EGGS! 🚨

Think you know eggs? Let’s see! 👀👇🏼
Here are 5 things you might NOT know about farm-fresh eggs!

🌾 #1 — FRESH EGGS HAVE A BLOOM!
That slightly powdery coating you may see on a freshly laid egg is called the bloom. It’s the hen’s natural protective coating that helps protect the egg and seal the shell.

🥚 #2 — YOLK COLOR CAN VARY!
A hen’s diet can have a BIG impact on the color of her yolks. Our girls’ pasture lifestyle and feed can give you some beautiful golden yolks! 🌱🐔

🍳 #3 — FRESH EGGS CAN BE HARDER TO PEEL!
Making boiled eggs? Believe it or not, very fresh eggs can be harder to peel because the white tends to stick more tightly to the inner membrane. Older eggs are often easier to peel!

🤎 #4 — EVERY EGG IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT!
Our girls don’t use an assembly line. 😂 You might get different shades, sizes, shapes and even the occasional BLUE EGG from Honey! 💙🥚

🌱 #5 — FARM-FRESH REALLY IS FARM-TO-TABLE!
Our eggs go from our girls → our cartons → your kitchen. 🐔➡️📦➡️🏡

👇🏼 NOW LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!

Which fact surprised you the most?

1️⃣ Bloom
2️⃣ Yolk color
3️⃣ Hard-to-peel boiled eggs
4️⃣ Different egg colors & sizes
5️⃣ Farm-to-table freshness

Now… who needs eggs?! 👀🥚

🥚 NOW THIS IS A RARE ONE! 🥚

It’s not every day you get an egg where the bloom is this prominent — and we were actually able to pull some of that natural bloom right off the shell! 😍

That white, chalky-looking coating is the egg’s natural bloom (cuticle). The hen puts it on as she lays the egg, helping seal the tiny pores in the shell and giving the egg a natural protective barrier.

The bloom is always there on a freshly laid egg, but the heat and humidity can sometimes make it much more noticeable, like this one! ☀️🐔

And being able to peel/pull the bloom off like this? That’s the really cool and unusual part! 🤯🥚

It’s not dirt, mold, or anything we added — this is straight from the hen, exactly the way nature made it. ❤️

🌱 Unwashed egg = natural bloom still intact
💦 Washed egg = bloom has been removed (eggs are still perfectly fine just have to be stored in the fridge right away after washing them)

Farm fresh eggs really are something special! 🐔🥚
