šŸ¾ā¤ļø HAPPY TAILS — COLE! ā¤ļøšŸ¾

Sometimes you go to an adoption event looking for a dog.

And sometimes, your dog is already there waiting for you. ā¤ļø

On Sunday, Christi came to our adoption event and was spending time with another pup when suddenly, she looked up.

Her eyes landed on this sweet little boy.

ā€œWhat’s this little one’s name?ā€

I smiled and told her, ā€œThat’s Cole. I’m fostering him. He’s the sweetest boy.ā€

She picked him up.

And honestly?

I saw it.

There was something in the way Christi looked at him—and something in the way Cole settled into her arms—that made you feel like these two weren’t meeting for the first time.

They were finding each other.

She took him for a walk. She held him. She talked about fostering him, maybe adopting him.

And before long, ā€œmaybeā€ didn’t sound much like maybe anymore. ā¤ļø

Christi was in love.

And looking at Cole with her, I could already see what his life was going to look like.

He was going to be somebody’s baby.

He was going to be adored, protected, spoiled, and loved more than he could ever understand.

We spend so much time in rescue trying to put the right dog in front of the right person.

But every once in a while, you get lucky enough to watch the exact moment it happens.

Christi didn’t know when she walked through those doors that Cole was waiting inside.

Cole didn’t know that Sunday morning that his person was coming.

But somehow, out of all the people and all the dogs who could have been there that day…

they found each other. ā¤ļø

And if we had searched the entire world for Cole’s family, I don’t think we could have chosen anyone better.

šŸ¾ā¤ļø Happy Tails, sweet Cole. You weren’t just adopted—you were chosen, completely and wholeheartedly. And something tells me you chose her right back.

Sugar’s Story
We don’t know everything she went through before coming to us. What we do know is that she spent over 100 days at the shelter on a court hold, while her case was continued again, and again, and again.
When she finally came out, she acted like she couldn’t believe she was feeling grass beneath her feet again. She wanted to wander, explore, and play. Watching her enjoy those simple things meant so much.
Now we’re getting to know the girl behind that long wait. Sugar is about 3 years old and 59 lbs, housetrained, and quiet in her kennel. She takes her yard inspections seriously and likes to know exactly where her people are. If they go inside, she’ll wait by the door or come looking for them. She wants that connection. ā¤ļø
Sugar also has opinions. When the leash comes out and outdoor time is over, she may bark and grumble, but so far those grumbles have been her way of protesting the end of the fun. She needs someone comfortable handling a strong dog while she learns leash manners, offering calm, patient guidance without being harsh.
We’re still learning how she feels about other dogs. After everything she’s been through, our focus has been giving her plenty of time to decompress and feel safe. A home with older kids would be best. Sugar is sweet, but she’s also strong—and we suppose she’s had to be after everything she’s been through.
Sugar has spent enough time waiting. She needs a steady, compassionate person who will give her time to trust, room to settle, and a home where she can finally feel safe.
Her name is perfect. Despite everything she’s been through, Sugar is still so sweet and so deserving of love. Now we want her to have a family of her own. ā¤ļø

We like to think this little guy was acting a fool at the shelter because he didn’t want to be called Jody. šŸ˜‚ He got the ā€œrescue onlyā€ tag, but once he was out of that environment, he started to shine. He’s a sweet little guy who loves his people.
He’s currently recovering from a respiratory infection and is scheduled to be neutered on October 12.
Under 10 lbs, he’s looking for a family—and a new name!
Help us out: what would you call him? Or adopt him and save him from this name yourself. ā¤ļø

Happy Tails for Maggie (formerly Big Gal)! ā¤ļø

Her foster family is keeping her! This big, beautiful girl has found her home, and she’s already in it.

Maggie was found as a stray and placed on the euthanasia list because the shelter was out of space. This fabulous family stepped up to save her, and she was loved from the very beginning. Day by day, she wiggled her way a little deeper into their hearts.

From day one, Maggie was housebroken, well-mannered, and affectionate. She likes to take a little time to watch what’s going on before joining in. As she became comfortable, her confidence grew and more of her personality came out. She even handles her bath trips to Hollywood Feed like a champ.

Most treats and toys don’t interest her much, but tennis balls? Those are worth her attention. šŸŽ¾

Now it’s official: Maggie is staying, tennis balls and all.

Thank you to her family for stepping up when she needed you and giving her a permanent place in your hearts and home. We’re so happy for you, Maggie!

Two for one!!!!
LILO
We need everyone to appreciate the underbite. 😬 Lilo was pulled from the euthanasia list with her brother Stitch and has been gaining confidence ever since. She loves people, attention and cuddles and is calm around other dogs. Cute face. Ridiculous underbite. Very good girl. ā¤ļø
STITCH
Stitch has an underbite, a big personality and no problem making himself memorable. He came from a cruelty case and landed on the euthanasia list before making it safely to us. Now he’s playful, affectionate and curious. Life was serious enough before. Stitch is ready for the fun part. 🧔
