We couldn’t do what we do without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. Tara Rock and Ms. Kay are here nearly every week helping us to serve our participants a hot meal. We are so grateful 🫶🏻

Our very own, Patrick Keiran, represented us at the Bluff City Prevention Coalition’s Recovery Month Community Event this past Saturday. Each interaction we have at these events is so meaningful as they allow us to engage with the community and hear their needs while arming them with facts and resources to help save lives. We are grateful to work closely with such incredible organizations so that we ALL may put our best foot forward in encouraging all those in recovery.

We out hurrr!

Another Friday night for the books. Since our inception in late August of 2019 we have not missed a single Friday night. Heat domes, snow storms, torrential downpours, hurricane winds and even one year tornado sirens ringing all night; it didn’t matter. To us the main concern was and always will be the individuals we serve.

Over 50% of the folks we serve are considered chronically unhoused, and if they are out here the least we can do is show up for them. That’s what A Betor Way is about.

Tonight we had the honor of hosting faculty from UTHSC Addiction Medicine. Thank you Marcus Mcdonald for your tireless effort helping those in need and being such an amazing volunteer on Friday nights.

Thank you Friends For All Memphis for showing up this late into the evening and meeting our participants exactly where they are at to get them connected to critical services. And a huge thank you to all of the A Betor Way staff for pouring your heart and soul into this organization day in and day out.

Last thing, if you happen to see our founder and CEO Ron Bobal wish him a happy birthday! The staff learned a new thing tonight, which is he likes strawberries 😂

See ya’ll next Friday!

Does this Thursday feel different to all of you?

Well that’s because it is! Other than the beautiful weather we’re having, today is national Save A Life Day.

Save A Life Day is happening in all 50 states, and we are proud to be a part of this event.

Come see us downtown at Court Square Park, get trained on the signs of an overdose and how to respond and walk away with a naloxone kit.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.

We know everybody’s asking where we’re at, so here ya go:

Cooper, between Nelson and Oliver!

It’s HOT out here, so swing by and grab a hand fan for the free. Consider it our contribution to keeping Memphis slightly less sweaty today.

We’ve also got some new stickers fresh off the press, and y’all have been going through them QUICK. Come get yours before we run out.

And while you’re here, take a few minutes and get trained on something that actually matters. Learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose, how to administer naloxone, and leave with a free naloxone kit.

Drug overdose remains the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18–44. That’s a heavy statistic, but the good news is that an overdose can be reversed. Knowing what to look for, having naloxone nearby, and knowing how to use it can mean somebody gets another day.

You never know when you might be the person standing there when somebody needs help.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.

Come find us on Cooper. Get a fan, grab some stickers, get trained, and take some naloxone home with you.

Our team has spent the last 10 days and nights at the Delta Fair. They’ve helped get people into treatment, given out narcan and provided free hiv and hcv tests and education. They’ve had a little fun too!!
