Beauty In Me Foundation
We help girls who face barriers in Memphis grow into strong, confident leaders. www.beautyinmefdn.org
We use the everyday act of self-care, starting in the hair salon chair, to teach them that they are worthy, capable, and loved.

Here's the beautiful part: helping others doesn't just help the person receiving it. It changes the giver too.
That's exactly why our girls don't just receive mentorship, they eventually learn to give it. Every lesson on gratitude, every small act of kindness we build into our program, isn't just about being a good person. It's about a girl discovering that she has something valuable to offer the world, long before she may believe that about herself.
Confidence doesn't only come from being told you're capable. It comes from proving it to yourself, by showing up for someone else.
So today, we're reminded: raising a confident girl isn't only about pouring into her. It's also about giving her the chance to pour into someone else.

Tonight is National Night Out, a night set aside across the country for neighbors and local police to come together, build trust, and strengthen community.
That message hit close to home for us this week. At our Back-to-School Beauty Day, a local police officer took time out of her day to sit down and talk with our girls, not as an authority figure keeping distance, but as someone genuinely invested in their lives. She listened. She answered their questions. She showed them a face of law enforcement built on connection, not fear.
That's exactly what nights like tonight are about: community and safety walking hand in hand.
To the officers who show up for our kids, not just in uniform, but in relationship, thank you. Representation like that plants something powerful in a young girl's mind: safety can look like someone who genuinely cares about you.
Tonight, get to know a neighbor. Wave at an officer. Build a little more community where you are.
It matters more than we realize.

Kids all across the city walked through school doors today, new teachers, new classrooms, new expectations. That's a lot for a young mind to carry in one morning.
If today felt exciting, we're happy for you. If today felt a little scary, that's okay too. Growth almost always feels unsteady before it feels strong.
To the parents who got everyone out the door today, lunches packed, shoes tied, nerves calmed, well done. That quiet, steady effort matters more than it gets credit for.
To every student stepping into a new year: you don't have to have it all figured out on day one. You just have to show up as yourself and let the rest unfold.
Here's to a year full of growth, good days, and girls and boys who know their own worth.

What a day it was.
Yesterday, we got to watch Memphis girls walk into Beauty In Me Foundation's Back-to-School Beauty Day and walk out with a fresh shampoo and style, full hearts, and a little more confidence for the school year ahead.
To every volunteer who washed, styled, served, and showed up with love, thank you. You made this day feel like family.
To every donor and sponsor who gave supplies, backpacks, and cash to make this possible, thank you. Every bottle of shampoo, every backpack, every dollar became a real moment for a real girl yesterday.
To the parents who trusted us with your daughters for the day, thank you. That trust means everything to us.
And to the girls themselves, you are the reason we do this. We hope you walked in feeling good and walked out feeling unstoppable.
This community showed up yesterday, and we are overflowing with gratitude.
