CASA of Merced County

Please join our Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator, Ellen, for Coffee with CASA today (August 5, 2026) from 11 am to 1 pm at "Wired Internet Coffee Bar" (450 W. 18th Street in Merced).
A consistent, caring adult can make a world of difference for a foster youth in need- and Ellen would love to tell you how over a cup of coffee.

Head on out to Applegate Park this evening and say hi to our wonderful Advocates, Lupe, Josslyn, Tara and Matt and Outreach Coordinator Ellen. They are braving this triple digit heat at National Night Out to spread the word about CASA.

A BIG thanks to Jenni Samuleson for hosting Smuckulents Fundraiser for CASA on Saturday, August 1. Jenni and Mid State Cross Fit kids have worked for months putting everything together and they did an awesome job. Such a good job they sold out of succulents early in the morning. The flowers pictured are called Jars of Joy; they certainly brought joy to the person that purchased them.

To a youth experiencing the instability of foster care, a text message or a weekend visit isn't just a check-in, it's proof that someone has their back.

80% of our advocates connect with their youth at least 2–3 times a month, 30% check in weekly, and10% are there multiple times a week.

These aren't just statistics. They represent real moments of connection, guidance, and a shared belief in a young person's future.

On Friday, July 24 CASA received a wonderful donation from Richard Melgoza on behalf of the Linda Carolyn Kelly Trust. Sadly, we did not have the opportunity to know Linda, but through her extraordinary generosity, her legacy will live on as we continue to advocate for foster youth, creating brighter futures for the young people we serve.
