August 2026 Impact — From the Heart of Merced TNR
If you could have seen August through our eyes, you would have seen what dedication really looks like.
You would have seen volunteers up before sunrise, checking traps in the summer heat. You would have seen our transport team driving cat after cat, dog after dog, to make sure they got fixed, vaccinated, and safely returned. You would have seen the quiet moments — cleaning wounds, holding a scared feral cat so it knows it's safe, sitting with a dog who has never known kindness before.
This is the hard work that doesn't always make it into a photo. But it's in every single number on this poster.
In August alone, together we accomplished:
149 lives protected from unwanted litters — 68 tame cats and 81 feral cats fixed through our TNVR program, plus 11 dogs fixed.
685 lives protected from disease — 402 dogs vaccinated and 283 cats vaccinated, keeping pets healthy and families together.
33 lives given a second chance — 15 cats and kittens and 18 dogs who needed medical treatment, who might not have made it without you.
That's 867 times we said "you matter" to an animal in our community.
Merced TNR started with a simple belief: fewer litters, healthier pets, a better tomorrow. That belief only becomes reality because of a dedicated community that refuses to look away. Our volunteers, our donors, our fosters, the people who share our posts, who bring us water on trap days, who donate $5 when that's all they have — YOU are Merced TNR.
We are not a big organization with a big budget. We are neighbors helping neighbors, animal lovers helping animals. And when we come together, look at what we can do in just 31 days.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in this work. Thank you for getting dirty, for caring deeply, and for standing with us month after month. The work is hard, but it's worth it — and it's possible because of you.

We are devastated 💔
This sweet orange boy was brought to Merced TNR badly burned. His face, ears and nose are severely injured.
He is in pain but he is safe now and fighting so hard to live.

He is on pain meds and antibiotics, but he needs emergency vet care for burn treatment, eye care, and wound management. We are a small all-volunteer rescue and this medical emergency is beyond what we have.

Update on Hope 💛

Surgery went well! Our girl is tough and she handled it like a champ.

She’s now home recovering nicely, curled up one of her favorite blankets, with her very nervous (but wonderful) foster mama watching over her every breath.

It’s a big recovery, but she is comfortable, loved, and safe. That’s what matters most.

Foster mama — you’re doing great. Deep breaths, she’s got this. And we’ve got you both.
