We’ve had quite a few readers walk in this week excited about the building progress going on! With the excitement has come a few questions, so we wanted to take a moment to answer some FAQs and prep everyone for the months ahead.

The building is scheduled to be complete VERY EARLY 2027. We’re talking EARLY. Like it could be snowing outside ⛄️… However, with every construction project, schedules can change. Because of our Community Development Block Grant, though, we have deadlines to meet, a hardworking crew on the job, and a team at the library eager to finish this project!

We are still working on the Community Room portion of the project. We will not stop 💪 raising funds until this project is complete. With the costs of materials constantly changing, we do not have a concrete answer on how much more funding we need. Your donation today could make all the difference, though!

We may not be out there hammering away 🔨 and building the building ourselves, but there’s hard work going on behind the scenes 😮‍💨. Programming may be reduced as staff focus on preparing the collection and new building.
While we prepare, some spaces in our current facility may start to look a little different.

🛑 We are pausing material (book and DVD) donations until after we move.

During the moving process the library will close for a short period of time. Due dates will be extended and you will be able to access digital materials while the facility is closed. As that time approaches we will share more information on this process.

We are blown away by the excitement in the community! This is our first rodeo 😉, so we appreciate your patience and understanding as we prepare for this big transition. Thank you all! ❤️ Your library loves you.

Farmer’s markets? Community garden? After-school programs? Educational opportunities? Study spaces - did you know we will have two study rooms for public use?
What ideas would you like to see come to fruition?

Our new building would not be possible without the generosity of community members, businesses, and organizations. To show our gratitude, we are honoring those individuals and groups who have contributed recognizable gifts to our Capital Campaign.

While the funds for the library portion of our project are secured, we are still working on raising funds for a community room addition. To help raise funds, we are inviting community members and partners to leave a lasting mark on our library.

Our Sunflower Donor Recognition Wall will celebrate the generosity of those who helped make this project possible. In addition, we are also offering space sponsorship opportunities, allowing donors to leave a legacy within our library for years to come.

Libraries are no longer simply places to borrow books. They are places where communities learn, connect, create, and grow. Every gift helps create more than just a space. It creates a place where people of all ages can discover a love of reading, learn and explore, build meaningful connections, and grow together as a community.
We hope you will consider making a difference in our community by reserving your space on our donor recognition wall or through a room sponsorship. With your help, we will build more than a library. We will build a lasting cornerstone for our community.

If you are interested in making a donation or would like additional information, please reach out to the library at 785-484-3393 or via email at [email protected]
