🀝 PARTNERSHIP. PREVENTION. COMMUNITY IMPACT.

The Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA Drug Demand Reduction and Outreach(DDRO) Team proudly hosted its first SPF Application for Prevention Success Training (SAPST) in partnership with the Southeast Prevention Technology Transfer Center Network (PTTC), Region 4.

We were honored to welcome members from three Drug-Free Community Coalitions:

πŸ”Ή Prentiss County Drug-Free Community Coalition
πŸ”Ή The Montgomery Institute TMI/CHIN Drug-Free Coalition
πŸ”Ή North Mississippi Youth Coalition

SAPST introduces prevention professionals to the fundamentals of substance misuse prevention and prepares participants to reduce the likelihood of substance misuse while promoting well-being among individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Through this partnership, RCTA provided this valuable training at no cost to our Drug-Free Community Coalitions.

But for us, this is about more than providing a course.

We want our coalitions to know that we are invested in their success because their success strengthens the communities they serve.

By connecting our partners with quality training, resources, and prevention expertise, we are helping build stronger coalitions better equipped to address the unique challenges in their communities.

We are grateful to the Southeast PTTC for partnering with us and to each coalition that joined us for this milestone training.

This is only the beginning. We look forward to expanding these partnerships and providing more training opportunities that strengthen prevention efforts across our communities.

Because prevention works best when we work together. πŸ’™

πŸ’œ August is Overdose Awareness Month

Prevention is more than a message. It is education, connection, partnership, and action before a tragedy occurs.

At the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA, our Drug Demand Reduction & Outreach (DDRO) Program works alongside Community-Based Organizations to strengthen prevention efforts where they matter most: in our communities.

By partnering with coalitions and organizations already doing the work, we help provide prevention education, strengthen community capacity, build connections, and support strategies designed to reduce substance misuse and save lives.

We cannot do prevention alone. It takes law enforcement, prevention professionals, schools, families, community leaders, and local organizations working toward the same goal.

πŸ’œ One mission. One community. Stronger prevention.

This Overdose Awareness Month, we recognize those we have lost, support the families and communities impacted, and continue working together to prevent the next tragedy.

Prevention works. Partnerships matter. Communities save lives.

πŸ“ RCTA ON THE ROAD | NEW ORLEANS, LA

Members of the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy RCTA are in New Orleans this week supporting the Louisiana Narcotics Officers Association (LNOA).

Our presence at conferences like LNOA is about more than attending; it’s about building relationships, strengthening partnerships, exchanging knowledge, and staying connected to the professionals we serve.

These connections help us better understand the challenges facing today’s law enforcement community and ensure RCTA continues to provide relevant, high-quality training that supports the mission.

🀝 Stronger partnerships. Better training. Safer communities.
