Cleaning up public lands to keep Idaho beautiful

09/24/2026

TOWING is SOLVED!!
LANDFILL IS GREEN LIGHTED!!

I could use a couple folks that can meet up there Friday evening or early Saturday to help me remove the AC and refrigerator and bag up all the trash and prep it for tow. I’ll bring the bags and a trailer to haul the trash out.

Anybody have a 20’ trailer with a winch? USFS got us the letter we need to dispose of this RV that was abandoned along Grimes Creek and it’s time to get it off our public land and cleanup the mess around it!

We use the Sons of Smokey App to help plan our cleanup events. It’s a really fantastic tool developed by Gambler 500 to locate and catalog trash and dump sites on public land. If you spend time recreating on public lands you should download the SoS App, when you log a trash pile, it’s visible to every other user with the app and people looking for a spot to cleanup can move faster and more efficiently!

BLM installed a temporary sign at the site of the Milner Recreation Area Cleanup! Permanent signage is on the way. Thank you to all the volunteers for doing a fantastic job!

Any cleanup isn’t a one and done deal. We’re combatting a generational and cultural problem that will take constant work and diligence to overcome. Growing the community of people who cleanup our public lands is the only way to prevail.
