Inside James Turrell’s newest Skyspace in Denmark, the sky becomes part of the architecture.

A circular room, a single opening above, and light programmed to change with the atmosphere.

No object to look at.
The experience is the work.

What did Art Basel 2026 really reveal?

Not a weaker market. A more disciplined one.

Collectors are becoming more selective, and capital is concentrating around works that can stand the test of time.

Mihael Milunović examines power, conflict, politics, and collective memory.

The art market is recovering, but not evenly.

In 2024, global sales fell 12% to $57.5B, while activity remained stronger in lower-priced segments. In 2025, sales rose 4% to $59.6B, with public auctions up 9% and renewed strength at the top end.

That is the real read: the market is not moving as one market.

Lower price points can bring activity.

The top end brings value when there is history, provenance, and demand.

The market is open, but selection matters more than ever.
