It’s been almost a month. I had plans to go home to North Carolina to spend time with my dad on a Monday and my sister called on Saturday and said, I don’t think you should wait. I got on a plane immediately. In the one week since I had seen him last he was now unable to speak or take his own medicine. I got in that night and spent the night with him.
When I woke up in the morning, he had passed. My dad was an incredible man.
An incredible musician. An incredible educator. A gifted story teller. Kind.
Funny. Reliable. Safe. It’s strange, him not being here. I’m strange, him not being here. I love you Dad.

Bakehouse open studios is tonight 3.29.22. Which means I cleaned my studio. Also, I am excited to watch people listen to my new work “Sankofa Landscape in Desire” I’ll be making it available on cassette tape. Link in bio if you’re interested.
