This is REAL Eastern spirituality. The Christian East is not a collection of crystals, incense aesthetics and mood-enhancing trinkets. It is a spiritual tradition built on Scripture, prayer, fasting, repentance, the intercession of the saints and the constant struggle to conform the soul to Christ.

The difference is enormous. One version of “Eastern spirituality” has been repackaged by modern consumer culture into something designed to flatter the self. The authentic Christian East asks for the opposite: humility, discipline, sacrifice and the death of the ego.

And this tradition is not foreign to Catholicism. The Catholic Church itself includes ancient Eastern traditions such as the Byzantine and Maronite rites, preserving liturgies and spiritual practices that reach back to the earliest centuries of Christianity.

So when someone says they are searching for “Eastern spirituality,” point them toward the real thing.

Trade the crystals for the Cross, self-worship for repentance, and the shadows for the Light. ☦️✝️

He kept it 100% real and shifted the tone immediately, saying he is focused, not here for distractions, and that moments of Black Excellence shouldn't be redirected. He made it crystal clear that he worked way too hard to let the spotlight shift away from his achievement! 🏆🛑

Social media is super divided over this. Some people highly respect him for setting that boundary, while others are saying he took it too seriously and it wasn’t that deep. Where do y'all stand on this? Let’s talk about it below! 👇
