Camillus House has provided humanitarian services/programs changing lives of the homeless since 1960
Established by the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1960, Camillus House has grown steadily over the years from a small overnight shelter into a full service center offering a full “continuum of care” for persons who are poor and homeless. Every service offered at Camillus is carried out with the deeply held belief that every human being is precious in the eyes of the Lord and deserves love, respect, and a chance to live a dignified life. Camillus does much more than offer a free meal, medical care, a shower, or drug treatment. It offers a second chance to the desperate, the lonely, and the ones society has left behind. Many of the clients who come to Camillus House have nowhere else to go. They have no friends, no family, and no loved ones to help them through their times of trouble. Camillus House becomes their family, giving them the hope and support they need to begin the long, difficult transition to a new life and self-sufficiency.

Today, we were honored to welcome City of Miami Edwin Lopez and members of his team to Camillus House for a meaningful visit with our CEO, Eddie Gloria , and a walk through our campus.
From great conversation to seeing our mission firsthand, today was about connection, collaboration, and strengthening the relationships that help make Miami a stronger community for everyone.
We’re grateful to Chief Lopez and his team for showing up, walking alongside us, and taking the time to experience the heart of Camillus House.

💚 WHEN SERVICE MEETS PURPOSE, COMMUNITY HAPPENS. 💜
Today, Publix Super Markets South Florida Managers, Assistant Managers and Customer Service teams rolled up their sleeves for a Day of Service at Camillus House. Serving alongside us in our kitchen and Dining Hall and bringing the Publix spirit of service straight to our mission.
At Publix, shopping is a pleasure. At Camillus House, serving with dignity, compassion, and hospitality is our purpose. And today, those two commitments came together beautifully.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of Publix Super Markets who don’t just support our mission, but continue to show up, serve, and make a difference.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE WORKPLACE— WATCHING FUTURES TAKE SHAPE.
One of our partnerships is with Cristo Rey Miami High School and its Corporate Work Study Program. Throughout the school year, students rotate through Camillus House, gaining hands-on professional experience while becoming part of our mission.
And the best part? We get to watch the growth happen. Confidence builds. Skills develop. Professionalism takes shape. And young students begin to see what they’re capable of.
At Camillus House, workforce development isn’t only about preparing people for a job, it’s about opening doors, building confidence, and investing in the workforce of tomorrow. 💜
They come to learn. They leave having made an impact. And we grow right alongside them.

Today, Camillus House was filled with energy, creativity, connection and a whole lot of love as the Junior League of Miami Fall 2026 New Member Cohort created a special Day of Self-Care for more than 40 women we serve.
From skincare and jewelry making to painting and guided meditation, every activity carried a simple but powerful message:
You matter. You deserve to be celebrated. And you deserve a moment just for YOU. ✨
To the incredible women of the Junior League of Miami: thank you for showing up, pouring into our women, and reminding us what community looks like in action.

From Partnership to Possibility: Creating Pathways to Employment
Camillus House took the stage at Goodwill South Florida 2026 Mission Optimization Learning Event (MOLE)!
Our CEO, Eddie Gloria, was invited to share the Camillus House perspective during “Expanding Workforce Impact Through Community Partnerships”, bringing to the conversation what we see every day: employment can be one of the most powerful pathways out of homelessness, but opportunity must be accessible to the people who need it most.
Eddie joined the conversation to share how workforce providers, shelters, and community organizations can break down barriers by meeting people where they are, surrounding them with the right support, and creating real pathways toward employment and self-sufficiency.
And that’s the power of partnership. We meet people where they are. We create pathways forward. We ReNew Hope.
