More than cleanup. Coastal stewardship in action. 🌊
Miami-Dade Parks manages 17 miles of coastline, coordinating sargassum operations under a state-issued beach-cleaning permit.
In designated areas, crews remove heavy accumulations from the shoreline. Elsewhere, sargassum is integrated into the sand. During sea turtle nesting season, mechanical operations begin only after conservation teams complete their early-morning surveys.
It is a carefully coordinated effort to protect wildlife, care for our coast and keep Miami-Dade’s beaches clean and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Well-being takes many forms.
It can be a morning walk, time spent near the water, a swim, a game with friends or simply a quiet moment outdoors.
Parks and recreation support physical health, mental restoration, social connection and stronger, more resilient communities.
This Park and Recreation Month, we celebrate The Power of Well-Being—and the many ways our parks help Miami-Dade live well.

A major milestone for the Ludlam Trail! 🚴🌳
The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners has approved the design contract for the full 5.6-mile Ludlam Trail, moving this long-awaited project from planning into design. Once complete, the trail will connect neighborhoods, parks, schools, businesses, and transit with a safe, accessible space for walking, biking, running, and outdoor recreation.
Public design meetings are expected later this year, giving residents a chance to help shape the future of this transformational community asset.
