Improving safety and easing traffic flow in District 10!

We’re excited to see the progress on the new traffic circle at SW 109th Avenue and 32nd Street, an important infrastructure upgrade that will help improve mobility, reduce congestion, and make our roads safer for drivers and pedestrians alike.

Tropical Park was full of energy as the FIFA Youth Clinic brought together coaches, families, and young athletes for a day centered on learning, development, and the love of the game.
The day started with an educational workshop for coaches led by licensed professionals, focused on leadership, teamwork, discipline, and confidence—skills that carry far beyond the field. Right after, the Youth Soccer Clinic took place where players ages 7–16 participated in drills and small-sided games led by trained coaches.
A special highlight was a guest appearance by David Ruiz of Inter Miami CF, who joined the clinic, interacted with participants, and inspired young athletes throughout the day.
As we continue building toward the World Cup here in Miami, moments like this show exactly why investing in our youth matters. Thank you to the organizers, coaches, and families who made today possible. District 10 is proud to keep creating opportunities that bring our community together.

I am proud to announce the establishment and initial meeting of the Consumer Advisory for Responsiveness and Experience (CARE) Advisory Board at Miami International Airport (MIA), a body created to strengthen the voice of passengers, stakeholders, and our community in shaping the future of one of the nation’s busiest airports.
CARE was designed with a clear purpose: to ensure that as MIA continues to grow and serve millions of travelers each year, we remain focused on what matters most, customer service, accessibility, operational efficiency, and the overall traveler experience.
As travel demand continues to increase, so does our responsibility to deliver a high standard of service that reflects the energy, diversity, and excellence of our community. The CARE Advisory Board will play a key role in helping us stay responsive, proactive, and focused on results.
I look forward to the work ahead and the impact this board will have in shaping a better, more efficient, and more welcoming Miami International Airport for everyone.

At the Third Annual Miami’s Ball to End Homelessness Gala, I presented a proclamation recognizing a night dedicated to service, compassion, and meaningful action.

This important gala brings together community leaders and residents in a shared commitment to addressing homelessness and supporting our most vulnerable neighbors. It also highlights the impactful work of Hermanos de la Calle, a grassroots organization helping individuals and families transition from life on the streets into stable housing, while restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity.

Proud to stand with the partners, volunteers, and organizers working to build a stronger, more compassionate Miami-Dade County.

Summer is here, and District 10’s Learn2Swim Scholarship Program is back for 2026!

Swimming is more than just fun, it’s a lifesaving skill. I’m proud to continue offering scholarships at Rockway Pool and Tropical Estates Pool to help more children learn water safety and build confidence in the pool.

All classes are taught by certified American Red Cross water safety instructors. Lessons begin Monday, June 8, so be sure to contact your local pool for details.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable summer!

Today I had the opportunity to join the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for its State of the Industry event and hear from leaders across Miami about the future of tourism in Miami-Dade County.

We’re not just becoming a world-class city, we’re already on the world stage. From hosting global events like FIFA World Cup matches, PGA tournaments, NASCAR races, major football championships, and the upcoming G20 Summit, Miami-Dade continues to attract the attention of the world.

As the son of parents who both built careers in the hospitality industry, I understand firsthand what tourism means to our local economy. It creates jobs, supports families, and helps small businesses thrive.

Thank you to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for bringing together so many leaders committed to keeping Miami-Dade a premier destination for visitors from around the world.

I had the honor of joining the Miami-Dade County Commission for Women as we recognized the 2025 Women’s Hall of Fame inductees before the Board of County Commissioners this morning.

These remarkable women have made a lasting impact on our community through their leadership, service, and dedication to making Miami-Dade a better place for all.

Congratulations to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, Gloria Estefan, FIU President Jeanette M. Nuñez, and MDC President Madeline Pumariega on this well-deserved recognition.

Today, we were proud to recognize Girl Scout Troop 2013 and celebrate a historic milestone, the awarding of the very first Chairman’s Patch in Miami-Dade County. Through their dedication to community service, park beautification projects, and District 10 initiatives, these young women have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and a true commitment to giving back.

A special thank you to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Station 47 for the incredible station tour and fire truck demonstration. We appreciate the opportunity to introduce these future leaders to the brave men and women who serve our community every day.
